Veikko's Hat: A Simple and Quick Knitting Pattern for Newborn Babies Using Leftover Yarn

This a very simple gnomy hat that I made for a Finn friend's baby, Veikko. It's a fast and easy last minute gift, also it needs very little yarn, so you can use whatever you have on your stash. I used some leftover from Restless Prairie Farm, an Etsy shop, I don;t know the brand ofit but it's organic and so soft. Description: Gauge: The pattern is worked on the round. 6 st x 9 rows for 1 in (3 cm). Size: Materials: The hat is for a newborn baby and may fit to 1 oz (lo0gr ) of fingering weight yarn. 3 months old. A set of Size of doble pointed nedlees. Finished measurments are 15.5 in (40 cm), circumference, 8 in (20 cm) height \*Please consider this is my first pattern, I'm doing my best, if anything is unclear please contactme.

Pattern

Cast on 70 st and join to work on the round. Rows 1-20: Rows 21-23: Row 24: Rows 25-27: Row 28: Rows 29-31: Knit (K) 2, Purl 2, repeat till end of the row. K K 8, knit 2 toghether (K2Tog), repeat till end. K K 7, K2Tog, repeat till end. K K 6, K2tog, repeat till end. K K 5, K2tog, repeat till end. K K 4, K2tog, repeat till end. Rows 29-31: Rows 29-31: Rows 29-31: Rows 29-31: Rows 29-31: Rows 29-31: Rows 29-31: Rows 29-31: Rows 29-31: Rows 29-31: Rows 29-31: K K 3, K2tog, repeat till end. K K 2, K2tog, repeat till end. The stars are embroider with any white yarn, I add 7 placing them evenly guidaded by the decreases rows, and I twisted the tip with my hand, but maybe you'll like it pointing. And that's it, you can keep a baby head warm now. NOTE: This pattern was developed by me, Nahuatl Vargas, is meant to use for hand knitting, you can sell hats made with it, but please do not use it for massive production.
