Materials:
>Yarn: fingering wt yarn (sock yarn, etc..) - Original model uses: (blue/purple) Araucania Ranco Multy #304, - 1 skn= 100gm (375 yds) Teal model: Colinette Jitterbug "Jay" #85 - 1 skn (320 yds); #7 Addi Turbo circular Kerchief size model: Koigu Mori (50% silk/50% wool) 1 skn (185 yds); #3 (3.25mm) Addi circ >#5 US (3.75mm) circular (adjusting needles to yarn and personal preference as to drape) row counter (clicker or my KISS Row Counter Page - download from my web site) crochet hook = H (optional edge bind off) Gauge: not important for this project. Key: (RS) = right side (WS) = wrong side m = marker pm = place marker sm = slip marker k=knit p= purl yo = yarnover ch = chain
Notes:
--This pattern may also be made into a larger full-size Shawl by using larger needles and yarns. --We are increasing 2 sts every row at the beg and end, increasing at the center only on RS rows. --Always knit the center stitch (every row). --Suggest making a small sample (test yarn and practice bind off) - can be an American Girl doll shawl or a scarf. Work only 1 full sequence and you have a Barbie shawl!
Instructions:
CO 7 sts. Setup: (RS) - k2, pm, yo, kl, yo, pm, k1 (center st), pm, yo, k1, yo, pm, k2 - (11 sts) (WS) - k2, sm, yo, k3, sm, k1, sm, k3, yo, sm, k2 (13 sts) R1 (RS) - k2, sm, yo, k to m, yo, sm, k1, sm, yo, k to m, yo, sm, k2 R2 (WS) - k2, sm, yo, k to m, sm, k1, sm, k to m, yo, sm, k2 Repeat R1 and R2 3x more for first garter stitch area. (37 sts and 10 rows total thus far).
Stockinette section:
R1 (RS) - k2, sm, yo, k to m, yo, sm, k1, sm, yo, k to m, yo, sm, k2 R2 (WS) - k2, sm, yo, p to m, sm, k1, sm, p to m, yo, sm, k2 (always knit center st) R3 (RS) - EYELET A: k2, sm, yo, k1, \*[yo, k2tog] - rpt \* until 2 sts before m, k2, yo, sm, k1, sm, yo, k2, \*[yo, k2tog] - rpt \* until 1 st before m, k1, yo, sm, k2. R4 (WS) - rpt R2 R5 (RS) - rpt R1 R6 (WS) - rpt R2 R7 (RS) - rpt R1 R8 (WS)- rpt R2 R9 (RS) - EYELET B: k2, sm, yo, k1, \*[yo, k2tog] - rpt \* until 1 st from m, kl, yo, sm, kl, sm, yo, k1, \*[yo, k2tog] - rpt \* until 1 st from m, kl, yo, sm, k2.
Garter section:
R1 (RS) - k2, sm, yo, k to m, yo, sm, k1, sm, yo, k to m, yo, sm, k2 R2 (WS) - k2, sm, yo, k to m, sm, kl, sm, k to m, yo, sm, k2 Repeat R1 and R2 4x more for garter stitch area. (total 10 rows)

Repeat Stockinette section and Garter section until you like the size or almost run out of yarn! End with Garter section. Bind off using your favorite stretchy bind off, or use:
Cluster Crocheted Bind Off:
Using Size H crochet hook, transfer 3 sts to hook, yo, pull through 3 loops, ch 3. Transfer 3 sts to hook, yo, pull through 4 loops, ch 3, rpt until 1 st on hook, loop through, end off.
