
Wibbly Wobbly Cowl
by Rachel Henry ORemily Knits As an avid “Doctor Who" fan, I just had to have the new “Time Traveler’ colorway in Knit Picks Felici. But what to make with it? After several failed attempts I was drawn to Grumperina's famous “Jaywalker” pattern and adapted it to make this cowl. Show off your own favorite selfstriping yarn with this deceptively simple cowl. Knit flat, with a two-row repeat, it is finished with easy buttonholes. And if a charmingly odd young man happens to beckon from a certain blue box ... Size: One size Yarn: Knit Picks Felici [218 yards $/50\mathrm{g}]$ , 1 skein “Time Traveler' Tools: Size $\sharp2/2.75\mathrm{mm}$ needles, tapestry needle, seven smallish buttons
Pattern Notes:
CDD (centered double decrease): S1 2 sts together as if to k2tog, k1, pass both sl sts over M1R (make one right): Insert left needle, from back to front, under strand of yarn which runs between last stitch on left needle and first stitch on right needle; knit this stitch through front loop M1L (make one left): Insert left needle, from front to back, under strand of yarn which runs between last stitch on left needle and first stitch on right needle; knit this stitch through backloop
Wibbly Wobbly Cowl:
Cast on 65 stitches (rec. long-tail cast on). Knit 1 row. Row 1 (RS): YO (wrap the yarn clockwise around the right needle, completing a full loop), [k9, CDD, k9, M1R, k1, M1L] twice, k9, CDD, k8, k1tbl. (64 sts) Row 2 (WS): YO (wrap the yarn counter-clockwise around the right needle, completing a full loop), p63, p1tbl (65 sts) Repeat rows 1 and 2 until cowl measures 20 inches, or to your preferred length. Buttonhole row (RS): k1, k2tog, YO, k6, [k2tog, YO, k9] four times, k2tog, YO, k6, k2tog, YO, k1, k1tbl (7 buttonholes made, one at each point and valley) Knit one row, then bind off in knit. Weave in ends, sew on buttons, block lightly if desired. Enjoy!
