After making my Ratjetoe mitts my stash was still enormous so I needed another stash buster :) Get your leftovers together (fingering and dk weight) and enjoy a fun & colourful knit!Fair Isle and textured knitting sections are used and easily replaceable with your own favourites, make it as long and colourful as you want or just follow the pattern. The construction of this infinity cowl is simple; provisional crochet cast-on, worked in the round and finished with the kitchener stitch in the round for a seamless result. I happen to have a lot of blues and some greens; on the last page I listed all the brands and colours I used but of course you choose and pick your own colours as long as they are soft enough to wear around your neck :) For the textured parts I mostly used fingering weight and for the Fair Isle parts dk weight, this keeps a nice balance!

Directions:
Cast on 132 sts with the "provisional crochet cast-on" with scrap yarn & circular needle 3.5 mm (60 cm). Repeat pattern from beginning one more time and use different colour combinations or try out some of your own Fair Isle charts. Total length should be approx. 120 cm. Knit 1 last round with the colour you used at the very beginning. Sew in loose ends and divide 66 sts on a double point needle and 66 sts on another one. Do the same for the cast-on sts (carefully slip them of the waste yarn). Now you have 4 needles with 66 sts each. Time to start the finishing kitchener stitch in the round.
Kitchener stitch
Kitchener stitch is a method of grafting two sets of live stitches together. With this technique, you are able to seam unbound stitches together invisibly. The seam you create with your tapestry needle actually creates a row of stitches. You can find several excellent tutorials on internet; written or video; look for "kitchener in the round".
