Directions:
Cast on 147 stitches. 1) K2 \*yo, k8, yo, k1\* ending with k1 2) K3 \*p8, k3\* 3) K3 \*yok8, yok3\* 4) K4 \*p8, ${\sf K}{\sf5}^{\ast}$ end with K4 5) K4 \*yo, k8, yo, $k5^{*}$ end with K4 6) K5 \*p8, k7\* end with k5 7) K5 \*k4tog tbl, k4tog, $k7^{*}$ end with k5 8) Knit across entire row Now you need to place the markers.
Iwillrefer to them later as Ist, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. So if you get confused you may want to opt for using different colored ones or types. Neck:

Finishing:
Weave in all ends. You can use a clasp, ribbon, i-cord, crochet chain, button, etc to hold it together, it's up to you! I used a vintage shoe clip (pictured).
