BEAR CUB PANTIES:
3.5mm/4US straight knitting needles 25grams double knit/lightweight worsted yarn Starting at the front waist, cast on 24 stitches. Work 4 rows knit 2 x purl 2 rib. (Knit 4, increase 1) x 4, knit 4 = 28 stitches. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 10 rows. (Purl 2 together) x 2, purl 20, (purl 2 together) x 2 = 24 stitches. Knit 1 row. (Purl 2 together) x 2, purl 16, (purl 2 together) x 2 = 20 stitches. Starting with a knit row, stocking stitch 20 rows. Increase in first 2 stitches, knit 16, increase in last 2 stitches = 24 stitches. Purl 1 row. Increase in first 2 stitches, knit 20, increase in last 2 stitches = 28 stitches. Purl 1 row.
Divide for the tail gap
Knit 14 stitches, turn. Working on these 14 stitches, starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 4 rows. Break off yarn and re-join for the second set of 14 stitches. Starting with a knit row, stocking stitch 5 rows. Purl across all 28 stitches. Starting with a knit row, stocking stitch 5 rows. (Purl 4, purl 2 together) x 4, purl 4 = 24 stitches. Work 4 rows in knit 2 x purl 2 rib. Cast off. Fold with right sides together and sew up the side seams. Weave in loose tails.
BEAR CUB'S VEST (front and back, both alike):
3.5mm/4US straight knitting needles 25grams double knit/lightweight worsted yarn. Starting at hem edge, cast on 26 stitches. Work 4 rows knit 2 x purl 2 rib. (Knit 6, increase 1) x 3, knit 5 = 29 stitches. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 7 rows. Cast off 6 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. = 17 stitches. Starting with a knit row, stocking stitch 8 rows. Knit 5 stitches. Cast off the next 7 stitches. Knit 4 stitches. Working on these 5 stitches first, stocking stitch 6 rows. Cast off these 5 stitches. Re-join yarn at the remaining 5 stitches, starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 6 rows. Cast off.
Repeat above for the back.
With right sides together sew the shoulder seams. With right side facing, pick up 48 stitches around armhole facing. Work 3 rows knit 2, purl 2 rib. Cast off. With right sides facing join side seams. Weave in loose ends.
HOODED TOWEL/BLANKET
6mm/10US straight knitting needles 50grams Chunky/bulky yarn. Cast on 40 stitches. Work 12 inches/30cms in garter stitch. Cast off.
Hood
Cast on 30 stitches. \* Row 1. Knit Row 2. Knit 2 together, knit to the last 2 stitches, knit 2 together.\* Repeat \* to \* until there are 2 stitches remaining. Knit 2 together. Place corner of hood to corner of the blanket and sew down both sides.

4mm/6US straight knitting needles 50 grams Aran/Worsted Weight yarn 3 small matching buttons
Back
Starting at bottom hem of left leg, cast on 16 stitches. Work 4 rows knit 2 x purl 2 rib. (Increase 1, knit 4) x 3, increase 1 = 20 stitches. Starting with a purl row stocking stitch 15 rows. Using the first stitch, cast on 6 stitches = 26 stitches. Break off yarn and leave this work on your left needle, right side facing you. Cast on 16 stitches, onto the same needle. Work 6 rows knit 2 x purl 2 rib. (Increase 1, knit 4) x 3, increase 1 = 20 stitches. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 15 rows. Both pieces are now on the same needle, right side facing you. Knit across all 46 stitches. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 9 rows.
Divide for tail gap:
Knit 23 stitches and turn. Working on these 23 stitches, and starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 6 rows. Break off yarn and re-join at second set of 23 stitches. Starting with a knit row, stocking stitch 5 rows. Purl across all 46 stitches, joining the back together again. Knit 1 row. Purl 3, (purl 2 together, purl 4) x 2, purl 2 together, purl 3 = 17 stitches. Knit 1 row. (Purl 2 together, purl 4) x 2, purl 2 together, purl 3 = 14 stitches. Knit 1 row. Button bands
Pick up 20 stitches along the left front opening. Work 5 rows knit 2 x purl 2 rib. Cast off in rib. Pick up 20 stitches along the right front opening. Work 2 rows knit 2 x purl 2 rib.
Work buttonholes
Knit 2, (yarn forward knit 2, work 5 stitches) x 2, yarn forward knit 2 together, work 4 stitches. Work 2 more rows in knit 2 x purl 2 rib. Cast off in rib.
Sleeves
With right sides together join shoulder seams. With right side facing you, pick up 34 stitches along armhole edge. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 4 rows. Purl 1, purl 2 together, purl 28, purl 2 together, and purl 1 = 32 stitches. Starting with a knit row, stocking stitch 5 rows. (Purl 2 together, purl 4) x 5, purl 2 together = 26 stitches. Starting with a knit, stocking stitch 2 rows. Work 4 rows of knit 2 x purl 2 rib. Cast off in rib. Repeat for the second sleeve. Fold with right sides together and sew side seams, from sleeve cuff to leg cuff. Sew inside leg seam from cuff to cuff. I to right side, place both button bands together, sew bottom edge to cast off ede Match up buttons to button holes and sew on.
DUNGAREES
3.5mm/4US straight knitting needles 50 grams Double knit/lightweight worsted weight yarn 2 buttons This is worked as one piece. Starting at hem of left leg, Cast on 32 stitches. Work 4 rows of knit 2, purl 2 rib. (Increase 1, knit 5) x 5, increase 1, knit 1 = 38 stitches. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 20 rows. Using the first stitch, cast on 3 stitches = 41 stitches. Purl across all 41 stitches. Using the first stitch cast on 5 stitches = 46 stitches. Break off yarn and leave this work on your left needle, right side facing you.
Right leg
Cast on 32 stitches (onto the same needle holding previous work) Work 4 rows of knit 2, purl 2 rib. (Increase 1, knit 5) x 5, increase 1, knit 1 = 38 stitches. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 21 rows. Both legs are now on the same (left) needle, right sides facing you. Using the first stitch, cast on 3 stitches = 41 stitches (87 stitches in total). Knit across all 87 stitches, joining the two legs together. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 14 rows. (Purl 2 together, purl 2) x 21, purl 2 together, purl 1 = 65 stitches. Starting with a knit row, stocking stitch 17 rows. Purl 1, (purl 2 together, purl 2) x 16 = 49 stitches. For the bib and straps: Working in garter stitch, on the first 12 stitches only, Knit 8 rows. Cast off 6 stitches, knit to the end of the row. Garter stitch 16 rows. Buttonhole. Knit 2, yarn forward, knit 2 together, knit 2 stitches Knit 2 rows. Cast off.
Bib and straps cont'd
Re-join yarn and knit across the next 25 stitches. Working in garter stitch knit 8 rows. Cast off these 25 stitches. Re-join yarn at the last 12 stitches. Garter stitch 9 rows. Cast off 6 stitches at the beginning of the next row, knit to the end of the row. Garter stitch 16 rows. Buttonhole. Knit 2, yarn forward, knit 2 together, knit 2. Knit 2 more rows. Cast off.
Sewing up:
Sew the back seam from the top of the garter stitch to the bottom of the crutch, leaving a gap for the tail to poke through. Sew the inside leg seam from bottom hem to bottom hem. Weave in any loose end. Attach buttons to the front bib; match up with the buttonholes.
DRESS x 2 - FRONT AND BACK (both alike)
3.5mm/4US straight knitting needles 50 grams Double knit/lightweight worsted weight yarn Starting at the bib, cast on 18 stitches. Row 1: Knit 1, purl 1 to end. Row 2: Purl 1, knit 1 to end. Repeat these two rows 2 more times. Increase in every stitch = 36 stitches. Purl 1 row. (Increase 1, knit 3) x 9 = 45 stitches. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 15 rows. Work 5 rows of knit 1, purl 1 moss stitch. Cast off in moss stitch.
Straps:
With right sides facing of the moss stitch bib, starting at the outside edge, working in towards the middle, pick up 6 stitches. Work 20 rows of knit 1, purl 1 moss stitch. Cast off. Repeat for the second strap.
Sewing up:
ght sides together, sew the side seams, stopping at the start of the moss stitch bil Sew the loose ends of the straps to the top of the bib.
BEAR CUDDLE BLANKIE:
FOR THE BLANKET: 5mm/8US straight knitting needles 25 grams Aran/worsted weight yarn Cast on 28 stitches. Row 1: (Knit 2, purl 2) to the end of the row. Row 2: (Purl 2, Knit 2) to the end of the row. These two rows form the pattern, repeat until work measures 7 inches/18 cms. Cast off. STRAPS: Using 3.5mm/4US needles cast on 10 stitches. Work 3 rows of garter stitch. Cast off. FORTHEBEAR: 3.5mm/4US straight knitting needles 25 grams Aran/worsted weight yarn 7mmsafetyeyes 8mm safety nose (Both optional, you can embroider these if you wish). Little safety stuffing/filler. HEAD: Cast on 4 stitches. Knit 1, increase in following 2 stitches, knit 1 = 6 stitches. Purl 1 row. Knit 1, increase in following 4 stitches, knit 1 = 10 stitches. Purl 1 row. Increase 1, knit 8, increase 1 = 12 stitches. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 2 rows. KNIT THE NEXT ROW (this is to mark the end of the muzzle/start of the head, important when sewingup). Knit 1, increase in following 10 stitches, knit 1 = 22 stitches. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 6 rows. (Purl 2 together, purl 2) x 5, purl 2 = 16 stitches. Knit 1 row. (Purl 2 together) x 8 = 8 stitches. Break off yarn and thread through the remaining stitches, gathering tight ready for sewing up.

Ears x 2:
Cast on 4 stitches. Knit 1, increase in next 2 stitches, and knit 1 = 6 stitches. Purl 1 row. Knit 1, increase in next 4 stitches, and knit 1 = 10 stitches. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 6 rows. Purl 1, (purl 2 together) x 4, purl 1 = 6 stitches. Knit 1 row. Purl 1, (purl 2 together) x 2, purl 1 = 4 stitches. Cast off. ARMSX2: Cast on 6 stitches. Increase in every stitch = 12 stitches. Starting with a purl row, stocking stitch 6 rows. Purl 2 together, purl 3, purl 2 together, purl 2, purl 2 together = 9 stitches. Starting with a knit row, stocking stitch 8 rows. Cast off.
Sewing up:
Weave in loose ends on the blanket and fold into quarters. Mark the centre. Fold the bear head right sides together and gather the remaining stitches tightly, sew along the seam, stopping short of half way. From the cast on edge sew towards previous stitching, leaving a gap for stuffing. Turn to the right side. Using matching yarn, sew a gather stitch through the KNiT row, position and secure safety nose if you are using one. Stuff, not too firmly, pull gathering seam slightly and secure yarn. Stuff the remainder of the head, position eyes, push a little stuffing onto the back stems, secure safety washers firmly. Stuff the remainder of the head and close the stuffing gap. Fold ears wrong sides together and sew along the straight edge in a loose gathering stitch, pull until the outer edges meet. Secure yarn, leaving a long tail. Position ears and sew into place, making sure they are level and equal. Fold arms right sides together. From the cast on edge sew along the seam stopping short of half way. From the cast off edge, sew towards previous sewing, leaving a gap for stuffing. Turn to the right side and position the seam to run along the centre of the arm. Stuff lightly, making sure not to stuff up to the cast off edge. Close the gap.
SEWINGCUDDLE BLANKET CONT'D
Place the straps over the cast off edge of the arms, making sure the arm seam is on the underside. Sew to the cast off edge of the arms.

Place the head on the marked centre of the blanket, pin in place and turn the blanket over, usinging matching yarn to the blanket sew throught the blanket to the head and secure in place.

Turn the blanket over to the right side and position the arms. Tuck them up under the head. Sew securely in place, along the three straight edges.
