GAUGE
7 sts and 8.5 rows per inch.
PATTERN NOTES
letters from the alphabet chart below and place them in the chart where indicated. Each letter is 5 stitches by 7 rows.
PATTERN
-With MC, CO 112 sts. -Divide sts evenly over 4 needles (28 sts per needle), jon, being careful not to twist stitches. -Work first 41 rows of chart in stockinette stitch. Begin decreases, while continuing to follow the color chart: - (ssk, k10, k2tog) 8 times - work 3 rows even - (ssk, k8, k2tog) 8 times - work 3 rows even - (ssk, k6, k2tog) 8 times - work 3 rows even - (ssk, k4, k2tog) 8 times - work 3 rows even - (ssk, k2, k2tog) 8 times - work 3 rows even - (ssk, k2tog) 8 times - k2tog 8 times -Cut yarn, pull CC through remaining 8 sts.
FINISHING
-Weave in ends. -Lightly steam-block as needed to even out sts and flaten out brim.
