Materials:
3.5 oz worsted weight yarn (sample in Plucky Knitter Primo Worsted) US Size 6 circular & US Size 8 needles for working in the round (double points or circulars) 1 stitch marker
Abbreviations:
kfb-knit into the front and back of the stitch k2tog-knit two together CO (88, 96) sts using US 6 circular (use a larger needle if necessary for a loose cast on). Place marker and join for knitting in the round, making sure not to twist. Work (9, 10) rounds of ribbing: \*k2, p2 repeat from \* around. After the last round of ribbing, remove marker, knit one stitch and replace the marker. (This will shift the marker one stitch to the left.) Increase round: \*kfb, k3 repeat from \* around. (110, 120) sts. Next round: Change to US 8 needles and knit. Begin spiral pattern: Round 1: \*kfb, k 7 sts, k2tog repeat from \* around (11, 12 times). Round 2: knit Continue working pattern rounds 1 & 2 until hat is 6.5" long from cast on edge. If you'd like less slouch, work to 6"'; for more slouch work to 7.?'
