Directions:
Setup: Cast on 8Osts with black (yarn A). Join in the round and place marker. Purl one round. Switch to color (yarn B). Rnd 1 and 2: slip 1 wyib, $\ast\mathsf{K}5$ slip $3^{*}$ end slip 2. Switch to black Rnd 3: Knit Rnd 4: Purl. Switch to color Rnd 5 and 6: K2, \*slip 3, K5\* end K3. Switch to black Rnd 7: Knit Rnd 8: Purl. Switch to color Repeat rounds 1—-8 six times.

Materials:
Yarn A: Cascade \*Pastaza", 1 skein, black Yarn B: Malabrigo Angora, 1 skein, greens (or two other worsted weight yarns) Other good yarns: Zitron "Nimbus", Malabrigo worsted, anything soft and yummy. Needles: US #9 ( $:5.5\,\mathsf{m m}$ ) 16" circular and/or dpns Note: all slipped stitches are slipped as if to purl, with the yarn held in back (wyib). Leave your "floats" loose, or your hat won't fit. Extra credit:If you want to make the inside very atandi stitches, pick up your bottom float, put it on the left needle, and knit it together with the s? Rnd 4: Purl. Switch to color thus "capturing" the float.
