Fingerless Moss Stitch Mitts

Materials: 98 yards of fluffy DK weight yarn. I used Angora from Plymouth Yarns Needles: US 6, whatever type you prefer for working in the round Two Stitch Markers per Mitt (you can work these two at a time using the magic Loop method) WasteYarn TapestryNeedle
Abbreviations:
PM =Place Marker P =Purl K =Knit KFB = Knit into the front and back of the stitch SM = Slip Marker Notes: Left and right mitts are identical.
Directions:
-Cast on 40, PM (this will serve as your round marker), and work in 2 x 2 (P2, K2) ribbing for 8 rows. -Work in Moss Stitch until mitt measures 2.5 inches from cast on row: Moss Stitch: Rows 1 & 2: \*K1, P1, repeat from \*. Rows 3 & 4: \*P1, K1, repeat from \*. -Form the thumb gusset as follows until there are 14 stitches between the Round Marker and Marker you are about to place in the Set Up Row. Set Up Row: KFB x 2, PM, work in Moss Stitch Pattern as established to end of round Row 1: K stitches between markers, SM, work in Moss Stitch Pattern as established to end of round. Row 2: KFB, knit to one stitch before the marker, KFB, SM, work in Moss Stitch Pattern as establishedtoend of round. -Place the 14 Thumb Gusset Stitches onto waste yarn and continue working remaining stitches in Moss Stitch Pattern as established until mitt measures five inches from the cast on row. -Work four rows in 1 x 1 ribbing (P1, K1). -Rind off in nattern -Finish Thumbs: Transfer 14 stitches on Waste Yarn to needles and work in stockinette (knit all stitches and rounds) for 5 rounds. Work in 1 x 1 ribbing for three rounds. Bind off in pattern. -Weave in ends and block lightly if desired. -Enjoy fluffy goodness!
