Norma's 3-Way Scarf

Norma may be worn as a scarf, a cowl or a hood to keep the ears warm. With Norma around your neck in the scarf position you twist the scarf into a figure 8 form and pull the bottom half of the 8 up over your head to wear it as a cowl. . The cable cast-on is recommended for this scarf because it creates a mirror image of the common bind-off and makes the two edges of this cowl/scarf identical. This cast-on gives the scarf a very clean and professional look.

Helpful Tip: To begin, cast on 125 stitches. CO 125 sts using cable cast-on. Rnd 1: Join in the round as follows, making sure stitches are not twisted: pm for beg of round, sl1k, k1, psso; k1, p2 \*k2, p2; repeat from \* to marker, ending with p2 and a total of 124 stitches. Rnd 2-12: \*K2, p2; repeat from \* to marker. Rnds 13-15: \*P2, k2; repeat from \* to marker. Rnds 16-21: \*K2, p2; repeat from \* to marker. Rnds 22-24: \*P2, k2; repeat from \* to marker. Rnds 25-35: \*K2, p2; repeat from \* to marker. BO loosely in k2, p2 rib pattern.
Finishing
Use the tapestry needle to weave in the loose ends. Block gently without flattening the rib pattern. (Optional)
