Tunisian Simple StitCh (TSS):
Foundation Row (forward pass): Chain number of stitches indicated in pattern. lnsert hook in 2nd ch from the hook, yo, pull up Ip. \*Keeping alloops on hook, insert hook in next ch, yo, pull up Ip; rep from \* across. Do not turn Foundation Row (return pass): Yo, pull through Ist loop, \*yo, pull through 2 Ips; rep from \* until 1 Ip remains (counts as 1st st of next row). Do not turn Row 1 (forward pass): Sk Ist vertical bar of prev row, \*keeping all loops on hook, insert hook from right to left under the 2nd vertical bar, yo, pullup Ip; rep from \* across. Do not turn Row 1 (return pass): To complete the row, work same as Foundation Row (return pass).
Tunisian Purl StitCh (TPS)
Foundation Row (forward pass & return pass): Work the same way as the Foundation Row of Tss. Row 1 (forward pass): \* Pull yarn forward to front; moving over the strand, insert hook under next vertical bar (as in a Tss); pull yarn to back, placing it behind your hook. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Repeat from \* to last. Row 1 (return pass): Yarn over and pull back through one loop. \* Yarn over and pull through two loops. Repeat from \* until one loop remains on hook.

Instructions
Ch 28 Row 1: work TSS in next loop, TPS in next. Repeat these two sts alternatively to end of forward pass and return as for Tss. - 28 sts Rows 2: work TPS in next loop, TSs in next. Repeat these two sts alternatively to end of forward pass and return as for Tss. Rows 3-12: Repeat rows 1 and 2 alternatively. This creates the honeycomb pattern. Row 13-until piece measures 48cm: Work in TSS. Next row: (this row creates the buttonhole) Work forward Tss for 1l sts. Work next 6 st tog as follows: \*Insert hook under next loop, yo, pull through 2 Ips \* x8. Work last 11 sts forward Tss. with Return, work as for Tss for Ist 11 loop, ch 6, return remaining sts. For 12 rows: Repeat rows 1&2 alternatively. Last row: To end of, work sl st until 1 loop remains. Fasten off Sew a large button in the centre to the row where the Ist TSS piece and the honeycomb pattern meets.
