it top down in the round. Fits medium adult. UK crochet 5mm hook, no more than 100g DK yarn (I used stylecraft special DK) 1-make Magic ring and ch3 then work 11 UK trebles into it. Slip St into top of chain 2-ch3 then in same St as chain, work 1tr. Work 2tr in every St to end, slip st to top of starting ch. 3-ch3, work 1tr into same St as ch, 1tr in next St, 2tr in next St, 1 tr in next St. Repeat from to end, slip St to starting ch 4-ch3, work 1tr into same St as chain, 1tr in next 2 sts, 2tr in next St, 1 tr in next 2 sts. Rep from to end, slip St to starting ch. Continue to increase in same way until you have done '2tr in one St, 1tr in next 4 sts. Work without increasing for 9 more rows (1tr in every St) To do front post and back post treble crochet to make the rib effect, using the post of the previous St, yarn round hook, place hook at front of work and go behind the post (so post is at front of hook) yarn round hook again and complete the treble. This is front post treble St (FPTR) Next stitch, yarn round hook, place hook at back of work and go in front of the post again (so post is at back of hook, yarn round hook again and complete the treble. This is back post treble crochet (BPTR) Ch2, in first post St, work 1 FPTR, next post St 1BPTR rep from to end of round then slip St to top of chain. Repeat rib row 3 more times, then fasten off, sew in ends. If you're not sure how to make magic ring, you can ch 4 then work 11tr into the 4th chain from hook. It will make the top slightly gappy but that can be hidden by a Pom Pom :)
