Caswell Scarf by Janet Cullen

This scarf was designed to use up leftover yarns. The scarf is fully reversible and may be knitted for as long as desired. The scarf is named after the ship that my great, great grandfather sailed upon. Any weight of yarn may be used for this scarf. The sample above was made for a toddler using DK yarn and 4 mm/US 6 needles, and is 9 cm wide. A lighter weight yarn will make a narrower scarf, while a heavier yarn will produce a wider scarf. Use needles that suit your yarn weight e.g. DK 4 mm/US 6; worsted 4.5 mm/US 7; aran 5 mm/ US 8; bulky 6.5 mm/US 10.5. Gauge is not important for this design.
