Sea Scales Cowl This cowl was inspired by the impulsive purchase of a single skein of gorgeous yarn. The silvery blue colour, smoothness and shine of the yarn suggested beautiful aquatic things. The scale-like pattern practically knit itself to the very last drop of yarn!

NOTES
· I used the long-tail cast on for 3 sts, and then the reverse long-tail cast on for 3 sts to cast on in pattern for the 3x3 rib. There are many demonstrations of the technique on YouTube including this one: http://www. youtube.com/watch?v=xb0LDzd4WPM . · I used a sewn bind off, (a demonstration of which can be found here: http://www. youtube.com/watch?v=sUhuXH63glM) working it as seen in the video for 3 stitches and then reversing that process for the next three stitches to create a purl-forward' looking finish to follow the rib pattern as established. Any cast on and bind off will work as well. Feel free to choose your favorite combination. Photo-tutorials for cast on and bind off coming soon tomy website: www.eastlondonknit.co.uk
