Bunter Zipfel/Color Dippy (Baktus Variation)

Pattern illustration

This pattern is my special two color variation of the Baktus scarf from Strikkelise and is published with her permission. You need: 75 g of multicolor 4-ply yarn (e.g. sock yarn or Acrylic, Merino) 75 g of black 4-ply yarn (you can make it shorter and use less yarn, just decrease when your skein is used half way up) circular needle at least 40 cm (2.75 or 3.00 mm). The scarf is knitted in rows with circular needles (not in the round!) If you like a longer scarf you will need more yarn. By always knitting the first and the last 2 stitches you will get a little border in the scarf color. The increases are done by knitting into the front and back of one stitch, in the first row after the color change, after knitting the first 2 stitches (= border stitches). Cast on 6 stitches with the long-tail cast-on in black. Knit 1 row in black. Knit 2 stitches in black, Purl 2 stitches in black, knit 2 stitches in black. Start with knitted section (in black) as described below. Then do purl section. Always do knitted section in black and purl section in the multicolor yarn. Repeat knitted section and purl section as long as you like half of the scarf to be or half of your yarn carries you. The increases/decreases are done on one side of the scarf. You can use a stitch marker to remind you of the increase/decrease. After you have reached the middle of your scarf start with the decreases of the knitted and purl section. Please note: the purl section has only one real purl row. This is intended that way.
