Noro Yoga Socks by NeedleRogue

Yarn 2 skeins (á 50 g) of Noro Silk Garden Lite (136 yards/124 meters per 50 g, 45% Silk, 45% Mohair, 10% Lambswool) Colourway used in the example: 2012 B Needles DPN's 3.0 mm (US 2 %) DPN's 3.5 mm (US 4) Gauge 22 sts, 35 rows = 10 cm (4 in) Size S/M Divide each skein into 2 balls in order to create 2 colours for each sock. 1 skein makes easily 1 sock. The socks in the picture were made with approximately 0.7 skeins each. The socks are knit from toe up.
Left sock
CO 40 sts on 3.0 DPN's using colour 1. Be careful to CO loosely enough, for not creating too tight a mouth for the sock. Join in the round and K2P2 for 6 rounds. Change to 3.5 mm DPN's and colour 2. Knit 3 rounds with colour 2. Knit 3 rounds with colour 1. Repeat these two stripes until reaching the desired sole length. I made 6 stripes of colour 2 and 5 stripes of colour 1, which allows me to get a nice grip with the ball of the foot and the heel when doing yoga. Next stripe (in the example done with colour 1): K1, \*P2K2\* for 4 times, P2, K1, knit to the end of round, repeat the same for the next round. The 3rd and last round of the stripe, B0 (loosely enough) 20 sts (in K and P as established), knit to the end of the round. Next stripe (in the example done with colour 2): CO 22 sts (loosely enough for not making the sock too tight behind the heel, knit to the end of the round. Next two rounds, \*K2P2\* for 5 times, K2, knit to the end of the round. 42 sts in total. Knit 3 rounds with colour 1. Knit 3 rounds with colour 2. Repeat these two stripes until obtaining the desired length. On your way up the ankle, increase 1 st for 2 times behind the ankle/calf.I did this as follows: On the 2nd round of the 1oth stripe after the heel opening: K10, M1, knit to the end of round. On the 2nd round of the 16th stripe after the heel opening, K11, M1, knit to the end of round. 44 sts in total. In the end of the ankle, do K2P2 ribbing for 6 rounds. This will look nicer if you first knit one full round with the colour you are going to use for the ribbing. I did not change for the smaller needles for the ankle ribbing, since my feet are pretty stubby and I didn't want to make the ribbing too tight. BO loosely in K2P2 as established. Weawe in all the ends. Do some yoga and enjoy!
Right sock
The right sock is made exactly the same way as the right one, only the heel is shifted 20 stitches forward in order to get the seam in the inside of the foot (mirrored to the left sock). So when opening the heel start with, K20, K1, \*P2K2\* for 4 times, P2, K1.
