Materials
●1 3.5oz/100g (each approx 104yd/109m) Malabrigo Chunky (merino wool in Vermillion 24) · 1 16" circular needle size 9 (5.5mm) needles ● 1 16" circular needle size 10 1/2 (6.5mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE tapestry needle

Note
Headband is knit in the round on circular needle. Flower is knit back and forth on circular needle and attached to headband. Rib Stitch K2, P2 every round Stockinette Stitch K every round
Headband
With smaller needle and yarn, cast on 60 st. Work in K2, P2 rib for 1 1/4 "/3.5cm. Change to larger needle and work in stockinette st until piece measures 3 3/4"/9.5cm from beginning of work. Change to smaller needle and work in K2, P2 rib for 1 1/4"/3.5cm, or until total length measures 5"/13cm. Bind off in pattern.
Flower
Large Bottom Layer: With large needles and working back and forth, cast on 123 st. Next Round K2 (K1, Pass second st on R needle over last st knit)3 times. Four st have been bound off. \*K2, Pass second to last stitch on R needle over the last st knit. (K1, Pass second to last st on R needle over last st knit)3 times. Repeat from \* to end of row. There are now 25 st. Row 2 K even. Row 3 P even. Row 4 \*K2, K2 tog, repeat from \* to end of row until 1 st remains, K1. (19 st) Row 5 P even. Row 6 \*K1, K2 tog, repeat from \* to end of row until 1 st remains, K1. (13 st) Row 7 P even. Row 8 \*K2tog, repeat from \* to end of row until 1 st remains, K1. (7 sts ) Break yarn, leaving 12"/30cm tail. Using tapestry needle, thread tail through 7 remaining stitches and draw tight, gathering into a ruffle. Small Top Layer: With large needles and working back and forth, cast on 81 st. Next Row K2. (K1, Pass second st on R needle over last st knit)3 times. Four st have been bound off. \*K2. Pass second to last stitch on R needle over the last st knit. (K1, Pass second to last st on R needle over last st knit)3 times. Repeat from \* to end of row. There are now 17 st. Row 2 K even. Row 3 P even. Row 4 \*K2tog, K1, repeat from \* to end of row until 1 st remains, K1. (9st) Break yarn, leaving 12"/30cm tail. Using tapestry needle, thread tail through 9 remaining stitches and draw tight, gathering into a ruffle.
Finishing
With tapestry needle and yarn, sew two layers of flower together. Stitch flower to headband. Weave in all yarn ends. Block to measurements.
