Rainbow Stripes
Size
pattern is written for EU 40-43. Adjust it for your desired shoe size.
Materials
100g sock yarn, DPNs or magic loop in 2.5mm, cable needle, tapestry needle 3 larger leftover skeins fur the cuff, heel and toe. The other leftover skeins need to weigh 10g, if you are aiming for identical socks. \~5g are needed for one full stripe sequence on one sock. You need 60- 100g sock yarn in total, depending on the size. Semisolid colored yarns make very crisp stripes. Multicolored yarns make a fun color gradient.
Abbreviations
K knit p purl sl slip ktog knit 2 together ptog purl 2 together ssk slip 2 stitches as if to knit, knit the 2 stitches together through back loop

Long-tail cast-on, cables, increases, decreases, kitchener stitch
Striping Sequence
You can use the striping pattern and add it to your favourite sock construction. 1 round in new color, 4 rounds in old color, 2 rounds in new color, 3 rounds in old color, 3 rounds in new color, 2 rounds in old color, 4 rounds in new color, 1 round in old color, 5 rounds in new color
Cuff
With the first color CO 68 stitches. Close the round. \*K2, p2\* repeat to end of the round. Repeat the ribbing util the cuff has the desired length.
Leg
Introduce the first new color and knit the striping sequence. Continue the striping sequence until the leg reached desired length.
Heel Flap
The heel flap is worked flat over needles 3+4. Row 1: Turn your work, sl1 with yarn in the back, p33, turn. Row2: Sl1 with yarn front, k33, turn. Row3: Sl1 with yarn back, p33, turn. Repeat Row 2 & 3 until 32 rows of the heel are knit. The last row is worked on the wrong side.
Heel Turn
Row 1: Sl1 with yarn back, k18, ssk, k1, turn. Row2: Sl1 with yarn front, p5, ptog, p1, turn. Row3: Sl1 with yarn back, k to 1 stitch before the gap, ssk, k1, turn. Row 4: Sl1 with yarn front, p to 1 stitch before the gap, ptog, p1, turn. Repeat Row 3 & 4 until all stitches are worked. (20 stitches remain on needles 3+4)
jusset
Continue the striping sequence where it left off. New beginning of the round: Sl1 with yarn front, k19, pick up and knit the stitches along the edge of the heel flap. Mark this spot as the new beginning. Round 1: K34, pick up and knit the stitches along the edge of the heel flap (same count as the other side), k to the last 3 stitches of the round, ktog, k1. Round 2: K35, ssk, k to the end of the round. Round 3: K to the last 3 stitches of the round, ktog, k1. Repeat Round 2 & 3 until 68 stitches are left on all needles.
Foot
Repeat until the foot has the desired length. The toe is 4cm (1 inch) long. (If you want to calculate your exact toe length: it is worked over 19 rounds)
Toe
Continue the main pattern on the toe. Or knit stockinette, it's your choice. On needle 1+2 are the stitches for the upper side of the sock. Needle 3+4 hold the sole stitches. Round 1: (needle 1+2) K1, ssk, k to the last 3 stitches on needle 2, ktog, k1, (needle 3+4) k1, ssk, k to the last 3 stitches on needle 4, ktog, k1. Round 2: (needle 1+2) K all stitches, (needle 3+4) k to end. Repeat round 1 & 2 until 52 stitches are left. Repeat round 1 until 16 stitches are left. Break yarn, close the toe with kitchener stitch. Weave in all ends. Knit the second sock.
