Mostly Manly Dishcloths

The Story:
I'm lucky enough to be married to a man who likes to do dishes. Crazy, right? I HATE doing dishes. After a conversation with my Mum, I discovered that my father, too, is the dish-doer in the family. So, I came up with a collection of relatively manly dishcloths with lots of texture for good “scrubability"'.
Materials:
Knit Picks Dishie Yarn (worsted weight; 100% cotton; 190 yds/100g): 1 ball each, “"Pomegranate" and “Blue". US 7 (4.5mm) needles Tapestry needle
Finished Size:
81/ Inches wide and 6/ inches tall.
Stitch Glossary:
k - knit p -purl rep - repeat RS - right side sl - slip stitch st(s) - stitch(es) WS - wrong side
Gauge:
21 sts and 38 rows = 4" garter stitch, knit flat.
Notes:
This pattern includes instructions for 4 different dishcloths. Written instructions are provided for each dishcloth. The finished dimensions of each dishcloth can be adjusted easily by knitting more row repeats in each pattern. Each dishcloth design uses between 30 and 35g (57 and 67 yds) of yarn; each ball of Dishie by Knit Picks should have enough yarn for 3 dishcloths if knit to the dimensions noted above. Although gauge is not critical for this project, a looser gauge than noted will result in the use of more yardage.
Finishing for all dishcloths:
Using the tapestry needle, weave in all ends. You may wish to wash/block the cloths before the first use but it's not required. Once washed and put in the dryer, the cloths bounce back to their original shapes.

Cast on 45 sts. Row 1 (RS): Knit. Row 2 (WS): \*K1, pl; rep from \* to last st, k1. Rep Rows 1 & 2 until dishcloth measures 6%/ inches from the cast on edge, or desired length, ending with row 2. Bind off with RS facing.

Cast on 45 sts. Row 1 (RS): Knit. Row 2 (WS): \*K1, p1; rep from \* to last st, k1. Row 3: Knit. Row 4: K1, \*k1, pl; rep from \* to last 2 sts, k2. Rep Rows 1 - 4 until dishcloth measures 6%/ inches from the cast on edge, or desired length, ending with row 4. Bind off with RS facing.

Cast on 44 sts. Row 1 (RS): \*K4, sl 1 knitwise; rep from \* to last 4 sts, k4. Row 2 (WS): Knit. Rep Rows 1 & 2 until dishcloth measures 6%/ inches from the cast on edge, or desired length, ending with row 2. Bind off with RS facing.
Mostly Manly Dishcloth #4
Row 1 (RS): \*K3, p1, k1, p3, k3; rep from \* to end. Row 2 (WS): \*(K1, p1) 4 times, k1; rep from \* to end. Rep Rows 1 & 2 until dishcloth measures 6%/ inches from the cast on edge, or desired length, ending with row 2. Bind off with RS facing.
