Smaller on the Outside
(TARDIS Washcloth) by Fang Bu Every Whovian worth his/her salt knows the shape of the TARDIS. A rather large proportion of us also happen to be knitters/crocheters. So there's bound to be an endless supply of Doctor Who themed projects in existence. Every companion traditionally exclaims some variation on “It's bigger on the inside! With Clara Oswald, somebody got cheeky. So, with this variation on the TARDIS washcloth, so did I. Sure, it's going where so many have gone before. But 1) I bothered to jot it down; 2) it doesn't involve colorwork; 3) the most complicated knitting technique you use is the bobble (twice), and otherwise the details are accomplished entirely through strategically placed knit and purl stitches; and 4) if you don't want to make a washcloth, you can use the central graphic in pretty much anything that gives you a 24- stitch by 38-row patch of stockinette for a canvas. A written pattern is included below, but if you're going to learn how to read a chart, this is as good a project to learn on as any. Start at the bottom and work your way up. Right-side rows read right to left, wrong-side rows left to right. This adventure in time and space brought to you by the letter W. For washcloth? Eh.

FINISHING:
At last bind-off stitch, pull remaining yarn through as a loop (do not pull all the way to end) 1-2 times depending on desired hanging loop. Pull tight and weave in yarn ends. Alternatively, you can do a series of crochet chain stitches or an I-cord and attach the last stitch back to the corner of your washcloth. Or (the easiest option) forget the hanging loop, pull yarn all the way through last bind-off stitch, and weave in ends. design is used as part of an article of clothing or other item requiring blocking
