Hand:
Begin leaf pattern starting with row 1 of the chart. All stitches are knitted except those in the above brackets. Continue knitting each round following pattern chart 2x if you want a 3 leaf repeat (3x for 4 leaves, 4x for 5 leaves, etc) Start the next round by knitting the first 4 stitches on waste yarn, then slip them back to the left needle and knit again with working yarn. Continue knitting round doing chart row 1. Continue knitting in pattern until you've finished another leaf motif.
Top of mitt:
Work in K1, P1 ribbing for 5 rows. Bind off in pattern.
Thumb:
Place stitches from waste yarn onto 2 dpns (4 stitches on one and 3 on the other). Begin knitting across lower needle (4 stitches). With 2nd dpn, pick up and knit 3 stitches and knit 1 from next dpn. With 3rd dpn, knit last 2 stitches and then pick up and knit 3 more. There should be a total of 13 stitches. (If you find this is too tight, pick up and knit 1 extra stitch on either or both sides.) Knit 5 rounds. (Want your thumb covered more? Add a few more rounds!) Bind off loosely. Weave in all ends.
Right Hand Instructions:
Cuff:
CO36 Divide stitches onto 3 dpns (14, 12, 10) and join for working in the round, place marker (if desired) to mark the beginning of rounds. (As you're knitting be sure your first needle has 14 stitches and not 10.) Work in K1, P1 ribbing for first 6 rows (or however many rows you knit for LH cuff). Set up round: K20, {P2, pm, K1, pm, P2}, K11 Again, the brackets show the stitches where the leaf pattern goes.

Hand, Top of mitt, and Thumb instructions are the same as for left hand. When both mitts are finished, wear and enjoy! @ Copyright 2013 Stephanie Stoll. www.perfectioknits.com All rights reserved.
