1 skein sock yarn sport 5-ply (e.g. Regia Mosaik Color) dpns 3,25 mm cable needle row counter 2 stitch markers big safety pin or small stitch holder needle to weave in ends Instructions: CO 56 sts = per needle 14 sts

For the cuff knit 30 rounds k2 p2 >> then purl 3 rounds >> start gusset for thumb AND cable pattern Arrangement of the pattern: right hand > gusset for thumb needle 1 > cable pattern needle 3 + 4 left hand > gusset for thumb needle 4 > cable pattern needle 1 + 2 The pattern will be knitted over 28 rounds. needle 1 + 2 of the right hand > knit stockinette stitch needle 3 + 4 of the left hand> knit stockinette stitch
Cable pattern:

Decreasing for the top
2nd needle > k until you have 3 sts > k2tog kl 3rd needle > kl ssk finish the needle 4th needle > k until you have 3 sts > k2tog kl 1" needle > k1 ssk finish the needle knit 2 rounds without any decreasing decrease > knit 2 rounds without any decreasing > decrease > knit 1 round without any decreasing > decrease > knit 1 round without any decreasing > decrease > knit 1 round without any decreasing > decrease > knit 1 round without any decreasing > now decrease in every round until you have 4 sts on each needle Vput the sts of the 2nd + 3rd needle on 1 needle a n d Vput the sts of the 4"h + 1st needle on 1 needle Vput these 2 needles with 8 sts each carefully inside the mitten > knit the sts together ( 1st of the front needle + 1 st of the back needle ) and cast off the sts at the same time
Put in the thumb:
> take the 19 sts of the stitch holder and put them back on needles + 5 sts out of the new cast on sts ( = 24 sts ) > knit in stockinette stitch till you reach the 5 cast on sts - decrease these 5 sts again in the same way like the right hand = 20 sts > arrange the sts and knit in stockinette stitch until the nail of the thumb is halfwaydone > k2tog until you have 3 sts > cut the yarn and leave a long thread > pull the yarn trough the 3 sts - pull tight together - pull the thread inside the thumb. Weave in ends.
