Meandering Together
by Eric N. Peguero Inspired by the alabaster colors of the stones of ancient times, this beanie takes the Greek Key motif and intertwines it to explore the beauty of two lines, two lives meandering together over time. The classic bone color of the body against the black foundation makes this versatile piece dream-like and full of hope for an inspired life... meandering with a special someone. Knit it for yourself or for someone with whom you would love to meander through life...

PATTERN NOTES
Since this pattern has long floats in the back, you may choose to either work the floats loosely, or twist them half way through each float. Personally, I work them loosely and this provides me with enough elasticity. Also, if you prefer to adjust the size of the hat up or down, please ensure you reduce or increase the number of stitches in groups of 10 (e.g., 90 or 110).
PATTERN
Cast on 1oo stitches in contrast color (CC). Place a marker. (Optional: Before I start knitting in the round, I often make a quick knot on the last stitch I cast. This prevents the inevitable “large" gap when you come around for Row 2!)

Body
R1-R3: K1, P1 R4-R5: Knit (stockinette) in master color (MC) R6-R18: Follow the pattern below (from right to left) alternating between the CC and the MC as indicated by the chart using the fair isle technique.

R19-R33\*: Knit (stockinette) in MC (\*Optional: As you begin R33, place markers every 10 stitches; this makes the crown shaping a lot easier.)
Crown Shaping
R34 begins the shaping of the crown. Transfer work evenly to DPNs when work gets too tight in the circular needles.

FINISHING
Using a darning needle, sew the ten stitches, pulling gently, and ensuring that the yarn ends on the inside. Make a quick knot (on the inside), weave in the end. Weave in the other ends on the inside of the hat. Enjoy!
