Spiral Pattern (multiple of 8 sts) Round 1: k3, \*p2, k6\*, rep from \* to\* to last 5 sts, p2, k3 Round 2: k4, \*p2, k6 dir\*, rep from \* to \* to last 4 sts, p2, k2 Next rounds: keep on moving 1 st towards the left, manteining the sequence [p2, k6] (you'll knit the first purl st and will purl the first knit st) [see chart ].

CROWN
Using the Circular CO [you can see on You Tube several videotutorials about Emily Ocker's CO or the Circular cast on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6sXTzPLnyW M ], CO 8 sts and join in the round placing a marker for beginning of round. Round 1: knit Round 2: kfb in every st = 16 sts Round 3: knit, placing a marker after sts 1-3-5-7- 9-11-13-15 Round 4: kfb after every marker (8 sts increased) Round 5: knit Rep rounds 4 and 5 until you reach the desired size; in this case 88 sts (for a more fitted hat, workawidth5-10%lessthehead's circumference). Keep on knitting even in Spiral patt until piece measures 5" from end of crown. Switch to rib 2x2 for 1". Bind off loosely (I used E.Z's "sewn bind off").
