Dormant Dandy
A Yarn-Madness pattern, by Madeleine Nilsson

The small ones of course need stylish design already from the beginning! Dormant Dandy features a top down yoke knitted in the round, followed by a striped body worked flat. Finish it off with an unusual front flap and a button - no seaming what so ever, and all edges are done while knitting. A quick and satisfying knit that will be finished before you know it!

Join MC - no need to break yarn between stripes, just let in run along on the inside. Row 5-6: Repeat rows 1-2 once. Row 7-10: With CC, repeat rows 1-4. Continue working stripes in this manner (4 rows CC, 2 rows MC), until you have worked 5/6/6/7 (9/10/11/12) CC stripes, ending with a WS row. (Or until just before desired length.) With MC, knit 5 rows. Loosely BO in knit on the WS.

Evenly along the right front and with MC, pick up approximately 3 sts per 6 rows, making sure you end up with an uneven number. Row 1 (ws): K1, purl to last st, k1. Row 2 (RS): K1, ssk, knit so last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. Repeat these 2 rows until you have 7 sts left on the needles, ending with a Ws row. Button hole row: K2, k2tog, yo, k3. WS: K1, purl to last st, k1. RS: Knit all sts. Ws: K1, purl to last st, k1. RS: BO all sts.
