Siren Song Scarf Pattern
(based upon a lace stitch pattern I found in “The Harmony Guides: Lace & Eyelets"): Skill Level:Intermediate Finished Size: approx. 42 inches x 7 inches Materials: approximately 223 yds (205 m) of worsted weight wool in a greenish-blue colorway (I used Paton Classic Wool that I hand-dyed using Kool-Aid and Wilton food dye. Post is here.) Set of US size #7 needles [or needle size to give you gauge below] twostitchmarkers Gauge: Mine was approximately 16 sts/16 rows = 4" in garter stitch
Pattern Notes:
sl slip psso pass slipped stitch over yo yarn over K2tog knit two together Directions: CO 31 sts. Purl 4 rows, placing marker after the third stitch and before the twenty-ninth stitches. (Basically, there will be a 3 st border on either side of lace pattern.) Please note that you will be slipping the marker as you go from now on. 1st row (right side): P3, \*sl 1, k1, psso, k2, yo, k2; rep from \* to last st before marker, k1, p3. 2nd row (wrong side): Purl Rep the last 2 rows twice more. 7th row: P3, k3, \*yo, k2, k2tog, k2; rep from \* to last 4 sts before marker, yo, k2, k2tog, p3. 8th row: Purl. Rep the last 2 rows twice more. Rep these 12 rows until scarf is desired length, ending with either row 6 or row 12. Purl 4 rows. Bind off and weave in all ends. Lightly block if you desire. Enjoy!
