Henley's Regatta
I love to wear big scarves to keep the cold of the winter out. This one is made from my Lafonia Sock - a 100% British Falkland Island Merino High Spun wool which is beautifully soft, not to prone to "pilling" because of how it has been spun and has a wonderful drape which is held in place by the garter stitch edgings. The colour here is November Storm. The patterning on the scarf represents sailing boats and the pattern is totally reversible making it ideal for a scarf project.
NOTIONS
2 x 100 gram skein of Woolhunter's Lafonia Sock Yarn - 365 metres per 100 grams. This will make a scarf that is approx 10 inches wide and 60 inches in length. Alternatively any of my Sockweight/4 ply Yarns would be suitable for this project. It would also be possible to make this scarf in other weights of wool by increasing the needle size however you may need more than 2o0 grams. 1 Pair 3.75 mm straight needles (UK 9) (US Size 5)
Tension/Gauge
6 sts and 8 rows per inch in stocking stitch. You may wish to adjust the needles up or down to get the correct tension but its not too important anyway as its a scarf.
