Materials: Dk yarn in green, purple and black Polyester stuffing 2.75mm knitting needles Darning needle Size: Approx. 16cm
Gauge:
Aim for about 7 sts and 9 rows to 1 inch. It doesn't have to be exact just make sure that you're knitting is tight enough so that the stuffing will not show through.

Body:
Using green, cast on 20 sts. 1:p 2: Inc1 into every st - 40 sts. 3: p 4: Inc1, k to last st, Inc1 - 42 sts. 5: Inc1 purlwise, p to last st, Inc1 purlwise - 44 sts. 6-15: repeat rows 4-5 5 times until there are 64 sts. 16-19: St-st, beg k 20: k2tog, k to last 2 sts, k2tog - 62 sts. 21: p2tog, p to last 2 sts, p2tog - 60 sts. 22-25: repeat rows 20-21 twice more until there are 52 sts. 26: k2tog, k to last 2 sts, k2tog - 50 sts. 27: p 28-37: repeat rows 26-27 5 times more until there are 40 sts. 38: (k2, k2tog) to end - 30 sts. 39-47: St-st, beg p 48: (k1, k2tog) to end - 20 sts. 49: p 50: Inc1 into every st - 40 sts. 51-67: St-st, beg p 68: (k2, k2tog) to end - 30 sts. 69: p 70: (k1, k2tog) to end - 20 sts. 71:p 72:(k2tog) to end - 10 sts. Break off a long length of yarn, thread through remaining sts, pull up tightly and fasten off. Seam row ends. Turn body right side out and stuff well, taking care not to stretch the knitting Gather round cast on sts, pull up tightly and fasten off. Use black yarn to sew a shallow v-shape for the mouth 3-4 rows above the increase row for the head. Work backstitches over the mouth for the eyes, following the photo as a guide.
Feet (make 2):
Using green, cast on 12 sts. 1:p 2: Inc1 into every st - 24 sts. 3-5: St-st, beg p. 6: k18, turn 7: slip 1, p11, turn, 8: slip 1, k10, k2tog, turn, 9: slip 1, p10, p2tog, turn, 10: slip 1, k10, k2tog, turn, 11: slip 1, p10, p2tog, turn, 12: slip 1, k10, k2tog, turn, 13: slip 1, p10, p2tog, turn, 14: slip 1, k10, k2tog, k all remaining sts on lefthand needle. 15: p13, p2tog, p to end - 16 sts. 16-23: St-st, beg k 24: (k2tog) to end - 8 sts. Break off a long length of yarn, thread through remaining sts, pull up tightly and fasten off. Seam row edges. Stuff feet and oversew across cast on sts. Use a length of green yarn to shape the toes by working long sts over the end of the foot and pulling them tightly.
Arms (make 2):
Using green, cast on 10 sts. 1-10: st-st, beg k 11:(k2tog) to end - 5 sts. Break off a long length of yarn, thread through remaining sts, pull up tightly and fasten off. Seam row edges. Stuff arms lightly. Oversew across cast on sts. Sew arms to front/side of body.
Spines:
Using purple, cast on 53 sts. 1-2: st-st, beg k 3: k1, \*(yrn, k2tog) to end 4:P 5:5 Cast off purlwise. Fold piece so that cast on and cast off edges meet and oversew these edges together. Sew spines to back of body and head, starting at end of tail and following centre back seam all the way up to the top of the head.
Tummy:
Using purple, cast on 12 sts. 1: Inc1, k to last st, Inc1 -14 sts. 2: p 3: as for row 1: 16 sts. 4-20: st-st, beg p 21: k1, k2tog, k10, k2tog, k1 - 14 sts. 22-24: st-st, beg p 25: k1, k2tog, k8, k2tog, k1 - 12 sts. 26-28: st-st, beg p 29: k1, k2tog, k6, k2tog, k1 - 10 sts. 30: p 31: k1, k2tog, k4, k2tog, k1 - 8 sts. 32: p2tog, p4, p2tog - 6 sts. Cast off Sew tummy to front of body.
