Purple cusIOn

n one Wednesday morning, I had a huge dilemma: what shall I knit at school? Listening to α lecture without any WIP wasn't an option. I grabbed the near est ball of yarn, matching needles and hurried to school. Here's the result of that day at school. Notice that the hat is designed for α big head. Measure yours before starting!
YARN
Araucania Patagonia (100 % cotton; 100 g / 96 m), 200 g in purple
CAUCE
16 sts ja 25 rows in stockinette stitch = 10 cm
PATTERn NOTes
Ribbing of the edge: kltbl (through back loop), pl. Double seed stitch: 1. and 2. rows: \*kl, pl\*, repeat \*_\* to the end of round. 3. and 4 rows: \*pl, kl\*, repeat \*\* to the end of round.
NEEDLES
4 mm or whatever size gives you the right gauge
Size
Circumference of head \~ 60-6l cm
PATTERN
Cast of 68 sts. \*Kltbl, pl\*, repeat \*_\* for 9 rounds. Next round: start knitting the double seed stitch and at the same time increase 4 sts after every 17 sts. There are now 72 sts. Continue knitting the double seed stitch until the work measures about 28 cm. On next round, \*k2tog, p2tog\*, repeat \*_\* to the end of round. Knit one round without decreases. Knit the next round like the previous decreasing round. Cut the yarn and pull through the remaining stitches. Weave in ends.
