Dewdrop Beaded Headband

Materials: 65 meters sport or light DK yarn (SWTC Terra shown) Needles: 2.25- 3.25 mm (or size to obtain gauge) and 2 mm double-pointed needles 1 large-eye bead needle 220 size 6.0 glass beads Gauge: 7 stitches $=1$ inch on larger needles Level: Intermediate. Abbreviations/ Techniques:
RS/WS: Right Side/ Wrong Side SPB: Slip stitch Place Bead: Bring yarn to the front of work, slip the stitch,slide bead up yarn and Place Bead in front of slipped stitch. Then return yarn to back of work in preparation for next stitch. PB:Place bead: Ae kniingastitch,bring oeeadtghlyup against stith (and thnyuwill secure it with the following stitch.) M1L: Make 1 stitch increase with a Left slant: Pick up from front to back the strand of yarn between the stitch just worked and the next stitch. Twist to make a loop, place loop on left needle and knit through the loop. M1R: Make 1 stitch increase with a Right slant: Pick up from back to front the strand of yarn between the stitch just worked and the next stitch. Twist to make a loop, place loop on left needle and knit through the loop. K2/ P2 tog TBL: Knit or purl two together through the back loop K2/P2 tog: Knit or purl two together knit-wise
Techniques:
Knit-on Cast-on: Draw the yarn through the next stitch as if to knit it, but instead keep both the stitch and the new loop of yarn on the needle (do not drop the stitch as you would when knitting) Place the loop (now the new stitch) on the left needle. Repeat to create desired number of new stitches Pick up and Knit: Along a row of stitches (in the headband, you will pick up along the sides), put needle through front of work under the first row of stitches, wrap the yarn around the needle, and knit the stitch out to the front. I-cord (beginning with 3 stitches remaining after completing garter triangle at end of headband): Using two double-pointed needles, \*Knit across. Slide the stitches back to other end of needle without turning. Pullthe yarn firmly across the back. Repeat from \* until desired length Beaded Picot Edge Bind-off: \*Slip the stitch on right needle to Left needle. Now, using Knit-on Cast-on technique, cast on 2 stitches. Instructions:
Before knitting, use the bead needle to string 144 beads onto yarn. All odd numbered rows are Right Sides, all even numbered rows are Wrong Sides.

Create the picot borders on sides:
Before knitting, use the bead needle to string 33 beads onto yarn. Note tbat wenpickingua stitch that is next toabeaded slipped stitb,pick u tbrouh only the outer bar—do notpick up tbe wbole stitch, or tbe bead willfloat out to the edge. Row 1 (RS): Pick up and knit 69 stitches along length of the headband on RS. Row 2 and 3: Knit all stitches Row 4 (WS): Bind offirst 2 stitches, and then (with the single stitch left on right needle) begin Beaded Picot Edge Bind-off (see above).
Complete first garter triangle at one end of headband:
Row 1 (RS): Pick up and knit 9 stitches on end of headband. Row 2 (WS): Knit all stitches Row 3 (RS): K1, K2tog TBL, K3, K2tog, K1 (7 stitcbes) Row 4, 5, 6 (WS): Knit all stitches Row 7 (RS): K1, K2tog TBL, K1, K2tog, K1 (5 stitcbes) Row 8 (WS): Knit Row 9 (RS): K1, K3tog TBL, K1 Row 10 (WS): Knit all stitches and DO NOT CUT YARN Add I-cord strap: Using the 3 stitches still on needle, create a 9 inch I-cord. On last row: Knit 1, then do one picot-bind-off, and then bind off last stitch.
Repeat garter triangle and I-cord on other end as for first end.
Finishing and care: (Sew in loose ends.) Hand wash in cool water with mild soap. Rinse well and air-dry flat, taking care to smooth edges flat.
