Midnite Ride
YaYaLovesToKnit This design began just as a project to try out a self-striping yarn in an interesting colorway called Midnight Ride. The name seemed appropriate as the chevron design does gallop around the cowl. NOTE: The cowl is knit from the bottom up tapering slightly at the neck edge. All measurements were taken after the completed cowl was lightly steamed and then air-dried flat overnight. Size: After light steaming, 9-12" high, 28" around at neck edge, 40" around at bottom edge Yarn: One skein of worsted weight yarn, approximately 200 yards. Sample cowl was knit using Universal Yarns Classic Shades (3.5 oz/100 gr, 197 yds/180 m) in color 719-Midnight Ride. Needles: US 09 circular needles and US 08 circular needles. Sample was knit comfortably using needles with a 24" cable. Other tools: stitch marker (to indicate the end of round), darning needle (to secure and weave in yarn ends) Gauge for a 4" square: Not essential to this design, but the following is provided just for your information: 18 stitches x 24 rows on US 08 needles.
