FLUTED HAT
This free pattern is for a matching hat for Purl Soho's Fluted Cowl. For a head circumference of 24"/ 61cm (adaptable).
MATERIALS
Yarn: Lana Grossa Linea Pura Cashsilk (82yd/75m, 50g), 1.5 skeins.1 Needles: US15/10mm double pointed needle set or 24"/60cm circular needles. Other: crochet hook of comparable size (optional), stitch markers, darning needle, tape measure.

GAUGE
1 pattern repeat (4 stitches) = 1.25"/3cm Tip: Knit up a swatch. I mean it! The pattern is easily adaptable; just choose a number of stitches divisible by 4. Also, make it smaller rather than bigger.

DIRECTIONS Cast on 72 sts with the help of a crochet hook2 and join in the round. Place markers about every 20 to 24 sts for ease of counting, and a differently coloured one at the join (end of the row). Row 1: \*p1, k1, p1, sl1\* repeat for all sts. Row 2: \*sl1, p1, sl1, k1\* repeat for all sts. Repeat rows 1 and 2 until piece measures approximately 8"/20cm, ending on a row 1. Tip: This is for a 1.25"/3cm folded brim in the finished hat. If you want the brim to be shorter/longer/nonexistent or if your head is significantly smaller/larger, adjust the length accordingly. Dec Row 1: \*p3tog, k1\* repeat for all sts (36sts remaining).3 Dec Row 2: \*k1, sl1\* repeat for all sts. Dec Row 3: sl1, \*skp\* to last stitch, then skp the last st with the first sl st together (18sts remaining). Dec Row 4: \*k2tog\* repeat for all sts (9 sts remaining). Cut the yarn and pull it through the remaining 9 sts. Pull tight and weave in all ends. Wash the hat carefully and block it.
