100% wool worsted weight yarn-in 3-4 colors, 22 grams or 50 yards of main color, 5 grams or 10 yards of all other colors. I used Malabrigo worsted Size 7 needles Needle felting needle Darning needle Poly-fil Finished Measurements: Width is 5 inches. Height is 3.5 inches? Gauge: 5st to inch in Stockinette Stitch
Front and Back of Pillow:
Maketwo. Cast on 30 stitches with the main color and knit stockinette stitch for 32 rows, bind off with the right side facing, on the 33rd row. When you have two pieces, seam three sides together with the main color. I used mattress stitch to seam.
Pocket:
Cast on 14sts and knit 20 rows. There will be 10 garter ridges. Sew the pocket to the center of one side of the pillow. Then stuff the pillow and sew the top closed. To felt it, put it in the washing machine with hot water and laundry soap, on heavy agitation until it is felted. Then using the small amounts of contrasting colored yarn, needle felt decorations or a message onto the pillow. Needle felting is simple just use a needle felting needle to poke the fiber of the yarn into the pillow until it is felted. Remember the pillow is small so don't plan on the message being very long.
