Materials
-Phildar 《 Licorne 》( $100\%$ cotton gased mercerised, $509\!=\!120\ m/13$ 1 yds) : 4 skeins Anemone (MC), 1 skein Kiwi (CC) OR suggested substitutes : Debbie Bliss 《 Baby cashmerino 》, Luxury collection 《 Baby pima 》. - 3 mm crochet hook -Approx. $40\!\times\!40$ cm of off-white thick fabric that doesn't fray too easily (for $_{2\times2}$ pages. More if you want more pages in the baby-book ) -Aishet ortwoof iron-on transfer paper to print pics on (depending onthe numerof photos you plan to print). - Pinking shears - One lile sleigh bell to put inside rattle toy - Darning needle to weave in ends and embroider kitty's whiskers. - Polyilto stuf rtle toy

Cardigan
Back : With Kiwi (CC), ch65. Ch2, dcfl across rows for 2 rows. Cut yarn. Switch to Anemone (MC), join yarn and work 12 rows in dcfl. At 14 cm high, start armhole shaping. Work first 4 st. in sl st, ch3, work in dcfl until 4 last st., turn. (47 st. remaining) Work those 57 st. even for next 10 rows until piece measures 24 cm. At 24 cm, shape neck. Ch2, work 18st in dcfl, turn Next 2 rows : skip 1 st. at neck edge. Fasten off remaining 16 st., cut yarn. Work second side of neck likewise. Left front : With Kiwi (CC), ch33, turn Ch2, dcfl across rows for 2 rows. Cut yarn. Switch to Anemone (MC), ioin yarn and work 12 rows in dcfl At 14 cm high, start armhole shaping. Sl st. first 4 st., ch2, work rest of row in dcfl. Work even in dcfl next 6 rows, until piece measures 20 cm. At 20 cm high, shape neck. Sl st first 7 st., work remaining 22 st. in dcfl. Next 6 rows : work in dcfl skipping 1 st. at neck edge ( $\because$ skip 1 st at end of row OR sl st 1 at beg. of row) At 26 cm high, FO remaining 16 st. and cut yarn. Right front : Work as for right side, reversing shaping.
Sleeves (make2) :
Row1 : Ch2, defl across. Row2 : Ch2, 2 dcflinfirst st., defl across untilast st., 2 dcfl in last st. $\stackrel{.}{=}$ increase 1 at each end). Cut yarn Switch to Anemone (MC), join yarn. Next, work in dcfl increasing one st. at each end of rows 4, 6, 9, 12 & 15. You have 53 st. Work even for 3 more rows until sleeve measures 18 cm. FO and cut yarn.
Finishing :
Sew sleeve to top of armhole, easing to fit. Sew armhole castofsections to equallength along the armhole end of the sleeve side edges. Then sew remaining side and sleeve seams, and shoulder seams. Go along allcardiganborders with Spikeclusteredging using whichevercolorcontrasting the oneused for that section of the cardil., adding 2 littl ties on each front side as you go as follows : Beginning at the top front neck corner of the cardigan and working downwards, ch 16, turn, sl st 15, continuing down in spike cluster egding along front side for 20 sts, then make a second tie likewise. Reverse instructions for opposite side (going up towards neck corner).
Kitty rattle toy
Will be worked in the round (except for ears at the end). Make 2 similar pieces. Start each round with ch1, and end each round with sl st in first sc of round tojoin. Finishing :
With Anemone (MC), embroider whiskers on one of the pieces that wil be the 《 face 》 using photos as guides. Onthe $2^{\mathsf{n d}}$ piece, stil with Anemone (MC), starting in the middle of the piece join yarn to start the tail. $^{\star}\mathsf{C h}16$ ,turn, sc in $2^{\mathsf{n d}}$ chain from hook and along all row\*. Slip stich 1 in back of head, then start again from \* to \*. Fasten off. Baby book
Book cover :
Ch1, work in sc accross, until piece measures $32\,\mathsf{c m}$ .Fasten off. With Kiwi (CC), embroider around book cover with spike cluster edging along shorter sides, and sc along longer sides as follows : \*sc5, sc2tog, repeat from\*
Book band :
With Kiwi (CC), ch35, turn. Ch1, work in sc across, Fasten off.
Finishing
Make a 14.7 cm $\times\,29.7$ cm cardboard template, and use it to cut 2 pieces in off-white fabric with pinking shears. (wil make 4 pages in the book. Cut more for more pages). Placepagesfacingthewrong sideofthebookcoverso that the nicerideisontheoutside and thebook band isin the middle. Sew book band in place. Your baby book is now complete. Just select the photos and transfer them onto the pages with iron-on transfer paper.
