Size: 15" wide, 18" long. Materials: Cleckheaton Country 8-ply 1 skein white, 1 skein brown, 5 skeins teal; size 4 and 5 circular needles, set of 5 size 4 double-pointed needles; tapestry needle Gauge:20 stitches $=4$ inches,28rows $=4$ inches in stockinette on size 5 needles. k: knit p: purl k2tog: knit the next two stitches together ssk: slip slip knit p2tog: purl 2 together p2tog tbl: purl 2 tog through the back loop Using the size 4 circular needle, cast on 160 stitches and join in the round placing a marker for the beginning of the round. Knit 2 inches of $\mathsf{K}2\,\mathsf{p}2$ rib. Switch to the size 5 needles and knit stockinette for 6 inches, piece measures 8 inches total. For the colorwork section of the vest follow the chart knitting teal stitches for the blue squares and white stitches for the white squares. The brown stitches will be worked in duplicate stitch at the end so when kniting the body of the vest use teal or white for those stitches as you come to them. Knit two rows even after completing the chart.

Now it's time to split for the front and back. You will work back and forth for this portion of the vest.
Back:
Bind off6 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. (68 stitches) Bind off 1 stitch at the beginning of every row 18 times. (50 stitches) Work even until 6 1/2 inches from the beginning of the armhole (about 18 rows) slipping the first stitch of every row. Knit ten stitches, bind off 30 stitches, knit ten stitches. Place shoulder stitches on holders for later.
Front:
Bind off 6 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows. (68 stitches) Bind off 1 stitch at the beginning of every row 18 times. (50 stitches) Work 24 stiches, k2tog,join a second skein, bind off 1 stitch and knit to the end.Working both sides at once, decrease 1 stitch at neck edge every row until 10 stitches remain for each shoulder. Work even until $6\,\%$ inches from the beginning of the armhole. Work a 3-needle bind off to join the front and back shoulder seams. Ribbing at armholes: Using size 4 double pointed needles, pickup64 stitches around the right armhole, join in the round and knit 6 rows of k2 p2 ribbing. Bind off and weave in ends. Repeat for the left armhole. Ribbing at the neck: Pick up 84 stitches around the neck, beginning at the center front. Do not join in the round but knit 6 rows of k2 p2 ribbing back and forth. Bind off. Use the ends to sew the ribbing to the neck edge so that it overlaps at center front. Using atapestry needle and brown yar, duplicate stitch the brown lines onto the vest following the chart. Weave in any remaining ends and block as desired.
