TheWoolhunterYarns to dye for! www.woolhunter.com

La Galleria
An essential winter item, this easy cowl knits up quickly and can be made using a variety of different thickness of yarn. It's entirely up to you how you choose to make it, there is no tension gauge to worry about and you can even use a combo of yarns held together as I did for a more textural feel. A great stash buster too and I hope you enjoy making it.
MATERIALS
I used 1 x Woolhunter's Blue Faced Leicester Superwash DK x 100 gram x 225 metre skein in Very Berry Colorway and approx 25 grams of Woolhunter's Mohair Laceweight in Lorraine's Dream held/knitted together. You can use any weight of wool you like or any combination of wools you like - the cowl is very adaptable and you can knit it on larger or smaller needles depending on your yarn - you will needle to adapt the amount of stitches you would wish to use and how many rounds you would want to knit but again this is simple, an even number of stitches will work with this pattern. My Finished Garment Length: (after a light pressing with my steam iron on wool setting) 36 inches circumference by 13 inches depth.
Notions
I used 1 circular needle 16 inches in length size 7 mm/Us 10.5-11, 1 st marker to marker beginning of round. Tension/Gauge Unimportant
Abbreviations
K = Knit K2 tog = Knit 2 together P =Purl Yo = yarn over needle Wyib sl1k = with yarn held to back as if to knit, slip one st knitways Wyif sl1p = with yarn held to front as if to purl, slip one st purlways
METHOD
Holding one strand each of the 2 yarns together, or whatever yarn you are using cast on/bind on LOOsELY 110 sts place marker and join into round being extremely careful not to twist your stitches. Then Knit 8 rounds. Commence pattern as follows.
Jan's Gallery Pattern
My pattern is very similar to Slip Stitch Mesh pattern, I just adapted it a bit to suit what I wanted. Rounds 1 & 2: Purl Round 3: \*Wyib sl1k, k1 repeat from \* to end Round 4: Wyif sl1p, p1 repeat from \* to end Round 5: \*yo, k2tog repeat from \* to end of round Round 6 & 7: Purl Rounds 8-13 inclusive: Knit These 13 rounds form the pattern. Repeat them until you have just enough yarn left to end garment by knitting 2 further rounds and then cast purlways LOOsELy. For best results to bring out the beauty of the "little galleries" press with a steam iron on wool setting to a finished measurement as given above. Then stretch lightly with your hands inside the cowl (as if you were holding a skein of wool) to allow the edges to roll over to give a nice finish. Wear and enjoy! If you have enjoyed this pattern, there are others available on Ravelry which I have designed. They are all given freely and don't forget to contact me to show me your finished garments as I'd love to see them.
