CO 40 stitches. Join in the round, be careful not to twist. Rows 1-6: Repeat (K1, P1) for 6 rows. Row 7: K1, P1, K1, knit row 1 of lace pattern, repeat (K1, P1) till the end. Row 8: K1, P1, K1, knit row 2 of lace pattern, repeat (K1, P1) till the end. Row 9: K1, P1, K1, knit row 3 of lace pattern, repeat (K1, P1) till the end. Row 10: K1, P1, K1, knit row 4 of lace pattern, repeat (K1, P1) till the end. Knit rows 7-10 for 4 times more.

Row27: K3, lace pattern, knit till the end. Row28: K3, lace pattern, knit till the end. Row29: K3, knit row 3 of lace pattern, K3, PM, M1L, PM, knit till the end. Row30: K3, lace pattern, knit till the end. Row31: K3, lace pattern, knit till the end. Row32: K3, lace pattern, K3, LM, M1L, knit to next marker, M1R, LM, knit till the end. Repeat rows 30-32 for 5 times more, until there are 13 stitches between the markers. Nextrow: K3, lace pattern, K3, move the 13 stitches from between the markers onto a piece of scrap yarn, remove the markers, knit till the end. Continue knitting in stockinette stitch and lace pattern as established, until the lace pattern has been repeated for 13 times in total (from the beginning of wrist). Repeat (K1, P1) for 5 rows. Bind off all stitches in K1, P1.

Thumb (same for both hands)
Move the 13 stitches from the scrap yarn back onto 3 DPN's. Join in the round, picking up and knitting 2 stitches at the joining point (15 stitches). Knit for 3 rounds. Next round, knit together the 2 stitches that were picked up on the first round, then knit till the end (14 stitches). Repeat (K1, P1) for 5 rows. Bind of all stitches in K1, P1.
