Unoriginal Scarf by Becky Diffen
This scarf was designed to match the Yarn Harlot's Unoriginal Hat Pattern which can be found here: http://www.yarnharlot.ca/blog/archives/2007/11/0 6/an_unoriginal_hat.html
I used Berroco Air, which is a slightly thinner yarn than Stephanie used in her hat. If you used a thicker yarn suchas the Leticia yarn recommended, this pattern will still work for you and will make a slightly wider scarf. Use the same size needle you use for your hat. Yarn: Berroco Air, \~ 2.5 balls Needles: size 10 US Dimensions: \~ 6” wide Gauge: (not that important) mine is about 4.5 stitches per inch Cast on 28 stitches. Begin with WS row 1. Repeat rows 1-16 until scarf is desired length, ending on row 15. Bind off. Row 1: k5, p4, k3, p4, k3, p4, k5 Row 2: k3, p2, k4, p2, c2 over 1 right p, c2 over 1 left p, p2, k4, p2, k3 Row 3: k5, p4, k2, p2, k2, p2, k2, p4, k5 Row 4: k3, p2, k4, pl, plc2 over 1 right p, p2, c2 over 1 left p, p1, k4, p2, k3 Row 5: k5, p4, kl, p2, k4, p2, kl, p4, k5 Row 6: k3, p2, k4, p1, k2, p4, k2, p1, k4, p2, k3 Row 7: k5, p4, k1, p2, k4, p2, k1, p4, k5 Row 8: k3, p2, c2 over 2 right, pl, k2, p4, k2, pl, c2 over 2 right, p2, k3 Row 9: k5, p4, kl, p2, k4, p2, k1, p4, k5 Row 10: k3, p2, k4, pl, k2, p4, k2, pl, k4, p2, k3 Row 11: k5, p4, kl, p2, k4, p2, k1, p4, k5 Row 12: k3, p2, k4, pl, c2 over 1 left p, p2, c2 over 1 right p, pl, k4, p2, k3 Row 13: k5, p4, k2, p2, k2, p2, k2, p4, k5 Row 14: k3, p2, k4, p2, c2 over 1 left p, c2 over 1 right p, p2, k4, p2, k3 Row 15: k5, p4, k3, p4, k3, p4, k5 Row 16: k3, p2, c2 over 2 right, p3, c2 over 2 right, p3, c2 over 2 right, p2, k3 If you make socks using this pattern, please send me a picture and feel free to contact me with any questions. becky @beckyanddaniel.com
