Dreamweaver Headband Pattern by: Kimberly Poole CrochetedbyKimberly.weebly.com May 2012

Terms Used:

ch: chain sl st: slip stitch tc: triple crochet dc: double crochet sC: single crochet sk: skip stitch f/o: Finish off (end yarn) Gauge for this pattern is not truly important. you just need to be sure your headband is going to fit the recipient with enough room to tie it in the back. I personally used a ch 70 (22")for a baby, ch 80(24.5") for a toddler, or a ch 90 (27") for a Child.

Materials Needed:

5.0mm Crochet Hook Small amount of worsted weight yarn (l prefer to use Red Heart Super Savers for their colour choices and how durable they are) I amount in a contrasting colour if you wish to make flowers or decorations Headband: written for an infant size with toddler and child in brackets (\*,\*) begin with ch 70 (80,90) 1) sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 14(19,19) sts, ch3, sk next st, dc in following st, \*ch1, sk next st, dc in next st\* repeat \*,\* 18(18,23) more times, sc in next st, sc in remaining 14 Sts.

Showing the first ch3, sk st and dc in following stitch from row 1, your dc will go in the stitch shown in the picture ;hould now have 15(20,20) sc, 20(20,25) dc and 20 ch 1 spaces, and 15 s Turn work 2)ch1, sl st in next st, sl st in next 13 sts, ch3 and dc in first ch 1 space, ch1, \*dc ch1 in next ch 1 space\* repeat \*,\* for remaining ch1 spaces, sl st in the last 15 sts as in row 1 f/o and weave in your ends.

your band should now have 2 ties (The end parts) and the open weave design in the middle (the main headband part) This pattern can be lengthened easily by adding to the beginning chain. I now like to make a flower to attach to the headband although it is cute without or even witha clip

A flower option: ch4 and sl st to beg chain to make a small circle 1) ch4 and sc into the ring \*ch4,sc into the ring\* 4 more times, sl st into the base of the first ch4 to end the round. (5 ch4 spaces) 2) \*sc, 2dc, 1tc, 2dc, sc\* into each of the ch 4 spaces for 5 petals. f/o sl st into any space between the petals on the beginning ring. You are now working the front row of flower petals. 1) \*ch3, sl st to next space under a petal\* 5 times ending with a sl st to beg chain 2) \*sc, 3dc, sc\* into each of the ch3 spaces for a total of 5 petals. f/o and weave in your ends I usually attach this to the headband with a button.
