LE PETITE FLEUR GANT

SIZE Women's Medium

MATERIALS

1 skeins of Jo Sharp Alpaca Kid Lustre, Shade 855 Cassis 50g/121 yds, Superfine Alpaca/Kid Mohair/Merino Misti Alpaca Hand Paint Chunky, Color CPO2 Azulichen Not a full skein, but several yards remaining from Le Petite Echarpe 100g/108 yds, Baby Alpaca ·One pair size 11 (8 mm) straight or circular needles ·One set size 5 (3.75 mm) needles Stitch Markers; Scrap Yarn; Tapestry or Yarn needle

GAUGE

22 sts = 4"/10cm in Jo Sharp on size 5 needles in pattern st TAKE TIME TO CHECK THE GAUGE CUFF Cast on 8 sts using Misti Alpaca on size 11 needles. Row1: K1, \*slip 1, K1, YO, psso both stitches;\* repeat from \* until there is one stitch left, then K1. Row 2: \*P2tog, before slipping stitches off the needle, purl the first stitch again and slide the worked stitches off needle\*; repeat from \* to end of row. Repeat these two rows 11 more times. Bind off as to knit on right side. Using a length of yarn, seam short edges together into cuff.

PATTERN STITCH - JO SHARP

Round 2: \*K1, K next st and leave on left needle, purl the st you have just knit together with the next st on the left needle and slide worked stsz from needle\*, repeat between \* to end of round. Deneot rounde 1 and 2 to decirad lonath Note - This pattern, in the second round, uses three stitches and does not increase or decrease any stitches. You will have the same stitch count at the end of the round as at the beginning.

HAND OF GLOVE

The cuff will be slightly narrower on one edge; you should pick up the following stitches on the narrow edge. Using Jo Sharp, pickup 36 stitches evenly around cuff, placing 12 st on each of 3 size 5 needles. You will be knitting in the round using the Jo Sharp Pattern Stitch listed above. Place marker for beginning of round and knit in pattern stitch until piece measures 1”' from where you picked up on the cuff. Next Round 1, starting on needle 1: K1, PM, M1, K2, M1, PM, (4 st between markers) K to end of round Next Round 2: knit this round in Jo Sharp Pattern Stitch as for Round 2 Next Round 3: K1, SM, M1, K4, M1, SM, (6 st between markers) K to end of round Next Round 4: knit this round in Jo Sharp Pattern Stitch as for Round 2 Next Round 5: K1, SM, M1, K6, M1, SM, (8 st between markers) K to end of round Next Round 6: knit this round in Jo Sharp Pattern Stitch as for Round 2 Continue in this manner until you have 16 stitches between the markers on an odd round; then knit one more even round in pattern stitch.

Moving Thumb Gusset to Scrap Yarn: Next Round: K1, M1, remove market and slip next 16 stitches to scrap yarn, remove marker, M1, knit rest of round. You now have 12 st on each of 3 needles and 16 st on hold on scrap yarn. Next Round: knit this round in Jo Sharp Pattern Stitch as for Round 2 Continue knitting in Jo Sharp Pattern Stitch on 36 st until piece measures an additional 1 12 °. Bind Off at Finger Base: The following bind off is naturally snug to prevent to much stretch at base of fingers. Do not pulloverly tightly while binding off. BO: \*K1, P2tog, pass first st on right needle over, K1, pass first st on right needle over, P2tog, pass first st on right needle over \* repeat from \* to end. Thumb: Slide 6 st from scrap yarn onto 1 needle; slide next 6 st from scrap yarn onto 2"d needle; slide remaining 4 st from scrap yarn onto 3d needle. Attach new yarn and pick up 4 st in gap at base of thumb placing them on needle 3. Place market for beginning of round on needle 1. (20 st) Round 1: K Round 2: K to last four st, SSK, K2tog. (18 st) Round 3: K to last four st, SSK, K2tog. (16 st - 6 on 1; 6 on 2; 4 on3) Round 4: K Round 5: K Round 6: P Next round bind off all st as to K.

ROSE

Using Jo Sharp and size 5 needles, the rose is made of 5 separately knit petals that are assembled after knitting. Petal 1 (make 2): CO 5 st. Knit 12 rows in stockinette stitch (K one row, P one row). BO leaving an 8" tail of yarn. Petal 2 (make 1): CO 6 st. Knit 16 rows in stockinette stitch. BO leaving an 8" tail of yarn. Petal 3 (make 2): CO 7 st. Knit 16 rows in stockinette stitch. BO leaving an 8" tail of yarn. Assembly: On each petal weave in end from CO edge. Using a tapestry needle, thread 8" tail from one of the Petal 1s and weave the tail through the long edge of the petal; pull to gather, then wrap petal into tight curl with purl side facing out; secure with a stitch or two through the petal base; leave remaining tail hang from bottom. Using 2"d Petal 1,thread needle with 8"' tail and weave tail through long edge; pull to gather and secure gather with small stitch or knot. Wrap 2"d Petal 1 around the 1" Petal 1 and tack in place at bottom edge of flower; leave remaining tail hang from bottom. Repeat gathering and attaching with Petals 2 and 3. When all petals are attached take the tails hanging from the bottom, split them into two groups and tight in a tight knot. Trim tails below knot.

FINISHING
