Materials required:
100g of 8ply yarn. I used Little Wool Co 8ply machine washable NZ pure wool in Amethyst. Gauge: 6 sts to 1 inch over stocking stitch. ?Two 3.75 mm circular needles, plus four 3.75mm double pointed needles. A large wool needle to darn in ends. Buttons? When I finished the first glove, I noticed a cable going the wrong way. I decided to repeat the mistake on the second glove and sew buttons there.
Right Glove:
Wrist:
Cast on 48 sts, 22 on the first circular and 26 on the second. Join the circle and work as follows: Row 5: first needle: p3, (cable front, p2) three times, p1. Second needle: p2, (k2, p2) six times.
Thumb and palm:
Row 25: first needle: p3, (cable front, p2) three times, p1. (5 cables so far.) 1 MaureenAnderson2013 Second needle: p2, kf&b, k1, kf&b, k19, p2. Row 26: first needle: P3, (k4, p2) three times, p1. Second needle: p2, k24, p2. Repeat row 26 twice more. Row 27: first needle: p3, (cable front, p2) three times, p1. Second needle: p2, kf&b, k3, kf&b, k19, p2. Row 46: first needle: P3, (k4, p2) three times, p1. Second needle: p2, k32, p2. Repeat row 46 three more times. Row 50: first needle: p3, (cable front, p2) three times, p1. (10 cables so far.) Leave this needle aside while you knit the thumb as follows: Using a dpn instead of the second needle: p2, leave these two sts aside on a safety pin, k13 sts from the second circular, m5. Now continue on just these 18 sts, putting 6 sts on each of 3 dpns, joining them in a circle and knitting them in the round with a fourth needle. Knit 7 rounds and then cast off. Use the second circular to pick up the two sts on the safety pin, then reattach the yarn and pick up 5 sts along the base of the thumb, one for each of the sts that were created there, then K19, p2. There should now be 28 sts on the second circular needle. Row 51: first needle: P3, (k4, p2)three times, p1. Second needle: p2, k24, p2. Continue thus, cabling in rows 55, 60, and 65 on the first needle as before. (13 cables so far.) Row 66: first needle: P3, (k4, p2) three times, p1. Second needle: (p2, k2) six times, p4. Repeat row 66 three more times, Row 70: first needle: p3, (cable front, p2) three times, p1 Work one more round as the sts present themselves, then cast off Use the needle to weave in the ends of yarn, closing any gaps at the base of the thumb as youdo.

Row 50: first needle: p3, (cable back, p2) three times, p1. (10 cables so far.) Second needle: p2, k19, Leave these sts aside while you knit the thumb as follow Using a dpn instead of the second needle: k13 sts from the second circular, m5, put the last 2 purl sts aside on a safety pin. (13 cables so far.) Row 66: first needle: P3, (k4, p2) three times, p1. Second needle: (p2, k2) six times, p4. Repeat row 66 three more times, Row 70: first needle: p3, (cable back, p2) three times, p1. Work one more round as the sts present themselves, then cast off. Finish as for right glove.
