Cowl:
Use the provisional method to CO 28 sts. Begin working the Lattice Pattem by following chart or written instructions for rows 1-40 twice then rows 1 - 8. Do not break yam.
Provisional Cast On
With waste yam, place a slip knot onto desired number of stitches are on the crochet hook. \*Wrap yam around knitting knitting needle. Break yam and pull tail needle, then with crochet hook, pull through live loop on crochet hook to through loop on hook; rep from \* until fasten off.

Finishing:
Block piece to measurements. Carefully remove waste yam from provisional CO, and slip sts onto an empty needle. Join CO sts to live sts with the three needle BO, or break yan leaving approx 12" tail of yam then graft using the kitchener st.
Three-Needle BO
With the RS's held together (to form ridge on WS), hold the needles parallel. With a third needle knit the first st of front and back needles together, \*knit next st from each needle together, (2 sts on right-hand needle), BO 1 st; rep from until all sts are BO.
Kitchener Stitch
Step 1: Bring threaded tapestry needle through first st on front needle, as if to knit, and slip st off needle. Step 2: Bring threaded tapestry needle through next st on front needle, as if to purl, and leave st on needle. Step 3: Bring threaded tapestry needle through first st on back needle, as if to purl, and slip st off needle. Step 4: Bring threaded tapestry needle through next st on back needle, as if to knit, and leave st on needle. Rep steps 1-4 until no sts remain on needles.
