You will need:
· One pair of straight 7mm needles (US 10%2 - 11) ·a cable needle ·a tapestry needle for sewing.

·You will need to be able to work in basic moss and cable st and be able to pick up stitches and work a fishermans rib. Sizes available - to ft an average adult calf and leg. Tension
13 sts x 22 rows to 10cm x 10cm over moss st patt using 7mm needles. Basic abbreviations - k = knit; p = purl; st(s) = stitch(es); RS = Right Side; Ws = Wrong Side; patt = Work in pattern as set; rep = repeat. Special abbreviations - m-st = moss stitch; K1b = k in st in row below; sl 1 = slip 1 st; C6b = slip next 3 sts onto cable needle and hold at back of work, knit the next 3 sts, work the sts on the cable needle; C6f = slip next 3 sts onto cable needle and hold at front of work, knit the next 3 sts, work the sts on the cable needle.

Instructions
The cuff is worked as one piece with the leg picked up and worked later.
Work as follows for both cuff and leg warmer (make 2)
With 7mm needles cast on 20 sts. Set up patt as folls: Row 1: P1, k12 (cable patt), m-st 7. Row 2: M-st 7, p12 (cable patt), k1. These two rows set position of cable and m-st patt. Work 4 full patt reps, ie 48 rows. Work should measure approx 16.5cm (6%in). With RS facing pick up 27 sts evenly along selvedge edge and work in tight fishermans rib for 7.5cm (3in) for cuff and 20.5cm (8in) for leg warmer or as desired. Cast off tightly in rib. Join cast on to cast off edge of cable to form a tube, being careful to match stitch for stitch. Fasten off and off and weave in any ends.
