(His n Hers Hats, continued from page one)
Decrease at start and middle of each needle by k2tog, then knit one round plain until you are down to just 2 or three stitches per needle (depending on size). Using a needle, draw end of yarn through stitches and secure. Weave in ends. To Finish: Lightly machine wash (on a cool short cycle) to slightly shrink and fulthe hat, then block to shape. It is always better to under wash the first time and repeat if needed than risk over shrinking by going for too hot and vigorous a wash. Adjustments to pattern: Ifa longerhat is required, add two or three rows to the seed stitch cuff and the first set of plain rounds, this willgive a deeper section to more fullycover the ears. For an unusually large head, or if you know you wish to full heavily, start with an extra stitch or two per needle.
