Twice as Nice By Annie Lee-Baker
Twice as Nice is an asymmetric shawl design ideal for using two skeins of fingering weight yarn. Knit on the bias, this design features eight stripes, deep notches, a bit of eyelet and lots of garter stitch. Choose one multi and one solid color or two solid colors for your project. Sample shawl shown on US size 12 dress form. Enjoy!


Materials
1 Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply in Fiddlehead / solid color 1 Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply in Celebration / multicolor 3.00mm (US2.5 / UK11) knitting needles 1 Stitch marker Gauge (not crucial) 26 stitches in garter stitch = 4 inches Measurements (approximate) After blocking: 21 inches deep, 72 inches across neck edge
Notes
You will need two skeins fingering weight yarn of 400 yards each. Scarf can be worked in a single color, just work pattern as written without changing colors. Abbreviations

Instructions
Set Up: With solid color yarn, cast on 4 stitches. Proceed to Row 1. Row 1: SL1, K2Tog, K to last ST, KFB Row 2:KFB,K to end Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until you have 57 STS. Work Row 1 once more. Section 1: With multicolor yarn color, KFB, K1 place SM, K to end of row. Proceed to Row 3. Row 3: SL1, K to last ST, KFB Row 4: KFB, K to end Row 5: SL1, K1, YO, K to last ST, KFB Row 6: KFB, K to end Repeat Rows 3 to 6 eight times more (you will have 39 STS on left side of SM). Cast off 8 STS as follows: K2, pass first ST over second ST on right needle, [(K1 pass first ST over second ST on right needle) 7 times]; K to SM, remove SM, K to last ST, KFB. Section2: With solid yarn color yarn, KFB, K1, place SM, K to end of row work Row. Proceed to Row 7. Row 7: SL1, K2Tog, K to last ST, KFB Row 8:KFB, K to end Repeat Rows 7 and 8 seventeen times more (you will have 39 STS on left side of SM). SL1, K2Tog, K to SM, remove SM, K to last ST, KFB. Work Sections 1 and 2 twice more. Proceed as follows: With multicolor yarn color, KFB, K1 place SM, K to end of row. Repeat Rows 3 to 6 nine times more (you will have 39 STS on left side of SM). Cast off loosely as follows: K2, pass first ST over second ST on right needle, [(K1, pass first ST over second ST on right needle) repeat to end]. Pull yarn through last stitch. Wet block as follows: after dampening scarf, stretch neck edge and pin straight. Smooth out and pin at bottom and side points and bottom edges.
