Snowdrop Lace Hat
Wanting a matching hat to wear with the Snowdrop Lace Scarf, I came up with this design that features a garter edge, three staggered lace repeats and a stockinette finish.

Modeled hat knit with Caya Colour Suner sport weight merino on ${\mathrm{US}}\#5$ circular needles, switching to US#5 dpn's. Gauge: Approx. 23 stitches over 30 rows $\,=4^{\,\circ}$ in unblocked stockinette knit in the round on dpn's for a women's small
Instructions:
Cast on 96 stitches. Work in rounds on circular needles. Place marker at join and slip as you work your rounds.

Switch to dpn's (double pointed needles.) You may want to place markers (pm) on round 42 to indicate where to decrease. It's a good idea to use markers colored differently from your join color to keep track of round completions. \*Round 35-41: knit Round 42: [k1o, k2tog, pm] repeat to the end of this round Rounds 43, 45, 47, 49: knit these rounds Round 44: [k9, k2tog] repeat to the end of this round Round 46: [k8, k2tog] repeat... It fits her very well. But many knitters have had difficulty with the hat being too small. Additional knit rows can be added at round 35 to make a larger hat.
