Materials
Yarn // approx. 82yds/75m of aran or heavy worsted weight yarn. Sample is shown in Wolle Roedel Siena Big (1 ball, color 14219; Note: I had only a few yards left, so you might want to consider buying 2 balls) Needles // set of Us 7/4.5mm & US 8/5.0mm double pointed needles, or size to obtain gauge Additional // stitch markers (1 in color A, 2 in color B), stitch holder, tapestry needle, 2 buttons (Q approx. 0.8"/2cm)

THUMBS
Put live stitches from holder on smaller needles, join yarn and prepare to work in the round. Rnd 1: \*p1, k1tbl\*, p1, then pick up 1 stitch in the gap and knit that stitch through the back loop (= total of 12sts) Rnds 2-6: \*p1, k1tbl\* Bind off in pattern.
FINISHING
Sew buttons in place and close holes if necessary. Weave in ends.
