The Great Blanket: Mass Effect by Anj

Description: Makes a 10" by 10" square. The square should be double knit, making it fully reversible. This square was inspired by the first scene in Mass Effect when you see the Normandy approaching the Citadel. It's an absolutely gorgeous scene, and as the two ships are very prominent in the stories of all three games I decided it was appropriate to honor them here. Ultimately, this square should be sewed together with others in the Great Blanket series to make a blanket.
Materials:
Us2needles 1 ball Simplicity Hikoo #037 - Gun Metal Grey 1 ball Simplicity Hikoo #030 - Fijian Waters Gauge: 24 sts and 35 rows/4 inches. Note that the truly important part of the gauge for this project is the ratio between stitch gauge and row gauge. When dividing your stitch gauge by your row gauge, the result should be as close to 0.66 as possible. This ensures that the image will translate correctly to your knitting. If the ratio is off, then the image may appear stretched vertically or horizontally. If the ratio is correct but the gauge is different (ex. 15 sts and 25 rows/4 inches) then the picture willook correct, but the square will not be 10" by 10".
Instructions:
1) Cast on 57 sts in grey and blue using the modified long-tail cast on in Extreme Double Knitting (EDK) by Alasdair Post-Quinn. 2) Follow the chart. White squares are blue on the RS, grey on the Rs. Grey squares are blue on the RS, grey on the WS. Use the slipped stitch selvage from EDK. 3)Bind off all stitches using the BO from EDK.
