MATERIALS

Brown Sheep Lamb's Pride Superwash Worsted, 100% wool (100g/200 yds per skein): 3 (4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 7, 8) skeins (Sample worked in #SW05 Onyx, (MC)). Brown Sheep Wildfoote Sock Yarn, 75% washable wool/25% nylon (50g/215 yds per skein): 2 (2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4) (Sample worked in #SY100 Rock 'n Roll (CC)). Size 6 (4 mm) straight and 16" circular needles Size 7 (4.5 mm) 16" and 24" circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge Stitch holders and markers

GAUGE

20 sts and 39 rows = 4" in pat st with larger needles 34 row rep = 3 1/2? To save time and ensure proper fit, take time to check gauge.

DESIGNER NOTES

Two strands of CC are held tog throughout garment. Circular needle is used to work color pattern; stitches are sometimes slid to opposite end of needle. Do not join, work in rows as directed. When dec at neck edge and inc on sleeves, do not count rows 4,5,12,13,19,20,22,23,32,33 which are worked in CC. (These rows are marked with a +).

FRONT

Work as for back until front measures 16 (16, 18, 20, 20, 20, 22, 22) rows less than back. Do not count rows marked with a +. Mark center 14 (16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16) sts. Dec Row: Work to 2 sts before marker, k2tog, place marked sts on holder for front neck, place rem sts on second holder for right shoulder area. Row 2: Work even in established pat. Dec Row: Work to last 2 sts, k2tog. Row 4: Work even in established pat. Continue to knit last 2 sts tog at neck opening until 19 (22, 27 30, 34, 38, 41, 44) sts remain. Work 3 rows even. Place sts on holder.

Part 2

With RS facing, using MC and larger 16" circular needle, knit 28 (30, 32, 34, 34, 34, 38, 38) sts of back neck, pick up and knit 21 (21, 22, 23, 23, 23, 25, 25) sts along left neck edge, knit 14 (16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16, 16) sts of front neck, pick up and knit 21 (21, 22, 23, 23, 23, 25, 25) sts along right neck edge. Place marker between first and last st. Purl 1 rnd. With RS tog, place part 1 over part 2 and join with 3-Needle Bind Off.

ASSEMBLY

Centering sleeve on shoulder seam, sew sleeve to body. Sew sleeve and side seams.

SLEEVE

With smaller needle and 2 strands of CC held tog, cast on 32 (36, 40, 44, 44, 44, 48, 48) sts. Work cuff as for bottom band of back, inc in first and last st of final RS row - 34 (38, 42, 46, 46, 46, 50, 50) sts. Change to larger circular needle. Work in pat st, inc 1 st each on Rows 6, 10, 16, 24, 28 and 34 until sleeve length measures 9 (11, 13, 15, 15, 16, 17, 18)” from beg. Bind off. With 2 strands of CC held tog, embroider zigzag pat on Rows 27-29 (see diagram).

COLLAR

Join shoulders with 3-Needle Bind Off.

Part 1

With smaller 16" circular needle and 2 strands of CC held tog, cast on 84 (88,92,96,96,96,104,104) sts. Join without g, Alrns::rfma ad ast st.hage M Work even until collar measures 1 (1, 1, 1%4, 1%4, 1%, 11%4, 114). Set aside.
